    ch ch ch ch changes…

I’m back from my brief blog hiatus with LOTS of changes. Just the start of things to come for 2012 and I’m so excited to have you along for the ride!

I worked with an amazing graphic designer (Madilu Designs) for an updated logo (just a bit of a color change) and all new packaging materials. Love my new ‘tiffany blue’ background pattern!! When you book a session for 2012, you’ll be getting a pretty awesome ‘welcome packet’ with all kinds of fun things to read, a contract to sign and a little questionaire to fill out to help me learn more about you. The photo packaging will be amazing and I hope to have everything together to post a picture for you soon. Still have some samples to create and order.

For my blog stalkers, I’m sure you’ll find a few changes to the blog itself. A new background, a new layout and lots of new scrolling images on the masthead. I’ve added a new FAQ section on the menu bar and have the brand new bsquared packages up as well (you can find the packages under b2 pricing in the menu bar above). There are some changes in the packages and offerings for 2012 and I will be scheduling fewer sessions this year in order to ensure that all my clients receive the utmost in customer service and attention. I’d love to hear what you think of the new blog design- let me know in the comments below or on the bsquared Facebook page.

A little peek at some of the new stuff:

The bsquared calendar is now open for January-April 2012. I also have some dates for communions in May and June already booked up, so if you are interested in a communion or other event after April, please let me know. If it’s a regular session you are looking for after April, that calendar should be available in March. You can find the calendar on the menu bar at the top of the blog.

I will be running a few specials in February and March so be on the lookout for those. And also some Communion specials for May. I’ll announce those later this month.

I will also announce the winners from the two bsquared giveaways that are still going on by the end of this weekend. Giveaway one is to post or email a picture of your 2011 Christmas card that you created from images I took (but that I didn’t make the card). The best one wins a little something. And giveaway Two: guess how many sessions I shot in 2011. The guess closest to the actual # wins a little something too. You can post your guess here in the comments section or on the bsquared Facebook page. There’s still time to enter both.

And because I hate blogging without a photo (not to mention that I still have Christmas to edit and all my vacation photos, and a few sessions and some other stuff from late 2011. Oh boy!) here’s one from my vacation that I’m still on. Don’t hate- I worked really hard this year!

Hope that you are enjoying all the bsquared changes and that you’ll all be in front of my camera this year-I can’t wait to start shooting again!!

    goodbye 2011, hello 2012

I’m going to be taking a few days off from blogging to enjoy the rest of my vacation and the new year’s holiday. Plus, the internet in the apartment is spotty at best lately. So annoying- it makes me want to punch someone. Hard. I’m also taking the next few days to get my act together with all of the details for next year for bsquared. I have a lot of changes coming up for you (I know I’ve mentioned that several times already, but I really do!! And the amount of work going into all of these changes is significantly more than I thought. But it seems to be that way with everything business related.) So I’m digging in with my meager internet connections, photoshop, and little notebook full of scribbles and scratches and trying to put everything together in a cohesive, pretty, sense-making, awesome presentation for 2012.

Plus, vacation photos will be up soon as well so don’t forget all about me and make sure you come back to visit the bsquared blog in 2012. I should be back to blogging by 1/4/12 or so.

Thank you to all of you- clients, blog stalkers, facebook friends & fans, families & friends of clients- all of you who made bsquared a successful, fun, happy place for me to be! I can’t wait to photograph all of you in 2012 and look forward to another great (and even better!) year!!

And a little giveaway going on until 1/5/12– guess how many sessions I photographed in 2011 and leave your guess in the comment section below (weddings, events, families, minis- every shoot for clients included). The one closest to the actual # of sessions wins a little something.

Happy New Year!!! Hope all of your wishes come true!! xoxo

the mori family {mini session} & a little bsquared contest

Wasn’t able to blog all of my holiday sessions before the holidays, so here’s one that I missed. My really good friend Sharon and her family.

    Totally gorgeous, right?!

And a little bsquared business/a giveaway: Hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas yesterday! We received so many beautiful holiday cards this year (a record #) and I loved seeing all of them.  So a little contest for you, open until December 31st, 2011.

If you used some bsquared photos on your holiday card that you made yourself, post it to either the  bsquared facebook page (link to your left) or my personal page on facebook and the best card will win a little something. Can’t wait to see what you came up with!

    10 for tuesday

Wow, it’s been a looooong time since I posted one of these. So busy with client sessions, no time for anything else.

    1. Well, as of Sunday night around 2:30am I finished editing all of the 2011 shoots to date!! I’m so excited and relived!! And maybe even a little sad too that it’s over.  I do have two sessions left for the year before vacation begins on Saturday. One sweet 16 and one family session for a soldier who is coming home on R&R from Afghanistan. Really, really looking forward to that one!

    2. A while ago I was contacted by a friend’s sister who is also a TV reporter. She also happened to be someone I photographed in the past as part of her extended family session. She was putting together a piece on women who started their own businesses and she wanted to feature me! Craziness! So we scheduled a date and had a full session with some of my favorite models and an interview on camera and the whole works. I don’t know if it’ll ever air, but if it does I’ll be sure to let you know. Or not, if I look like a giant ass.

    3. Some cool moon shots from my back deck.

    4. Timmy was bored one day and decided to get all his animals together, and I was instructed to photograph it. He kinda reminds me of that scene in ET.

    5. Between working on all the 2011 session, stuff around here for the holidays and just life, I’ve been working on a whole new bsquared for 2012. New branding, new packages, lots of changes. It’s all really exciting and overwhelming and I really can’t wait to share everything with you all. I’ll be working on rolling everything out by mid to late January- probably a little at a time. So be on the lookout for all of that and send me some good, productive thoughts.

    6. Just a few Christmas scenes from around here, including the holiday brunch at the club and our awesome Hanukkah wreath from the equally awesome Sullivans. More to come.

    7. After receiving my new Kindle Touch in early November and having it sit in the box it was shipped in since then, I finally got to open it. Loving it and how tiny it is. Looking forward to finally reading in Florida. I don’t have a really good book list to share yet because I haven’t been reading at all lately. But am hoping after the trip I’ll have a few books to share.

    8. Some photos from my recent shoots in central park. My photografriend Amandarelli came along for the day to help me out and keep me company. I didn’t feed her but other than that I think we had fun! (I didn’t eat either, I’m not that mean!!)

    9. I posted this on Facebook, but I am officially losing it. I bought Timmy a few Wii games last month and hid them so well that I cannot find them. So I spent yesterday morning in GameStop buying the same games. Twice.

    10. I had a great Christmas party last week with my photografriends. We had some awards that night and I won a few: Most Energetic, best logo (a 3way tie but I’m glad I didn’t change my logo afterall!) and Most Likely to drop the Fbomb. That last one is definitely true!!

Back tomorrow with some Bob posts. Have a great day!

    6 for Saturday {including a little bsquared business}

    First, the business stuff:

    1. Any of my clients who are interested in purchasing Organic Bloom framing- they are taking about 4 weeks from order to delivery so if you are looking for the frames to be here in time for the holidays (to decorate your house with all your fabulous bsquared images in super cool frames so your holiday guests can ooooh and aaaahhh over them. or to give as awesome gifts!) you should probably place your orders soon. I’m happy to come over and help measure your walls, lay out your galleries and help choose images and frame colors. You know, in my free time!

    2. Holiday card orders have come in from a few bsquared clients and are starting to arrive from my printer. And they are looking fabulous! The earlier you order your cards, the sooner you can have one more thing checked off your holiday to do list!!
I will be accepting holiday card orders thru Friday, December 9th for guaranteed holiday delivery. If you order after December 9th, there will be an additional charge for expediting your order. No orders will be accepted after December 16th. Sorry, no exceptions. (**if you have one of the later November bsquared sessions and your gallery isn’t ready to view by December 9th there will be no additional charge to expedite your order and you’ll still have your cards in time for the holidays.)

You can find the bsquared holiday card collection by clicking on the b2 products link in the menu bar above.

    3. Because I don’t have quite enough on my plate this time of year, I’m working on lots of changes for bsquared photography in 2012. I can’t wait to share everything with you! Watch out for new announcements in December and January.

    4. It’s been a very ummm….interesting? month around here with the big boys. We’ve got quite the streak of losses and I’m hemorrhaging money. In the last month they’ve:

lost a cell phone (which I found 3 weeks later after ordering the replacement- of course- but returned the replacement and got my $ back),

lost a kindle (and the person who then took said kindle downloaded the Bible on it. Irony, much? My uncle said they must have been from the church of the 9 commandments. Whoever has it now has a very expensive piece of plastic that does nothing.         We deactivated it so nothing shows up on the screen, nothing can be read or purchased. How’s that working out for you?)

dropped a macbook (which then needed it’s screen replaced)

dropped a stapler on my macbook pro and killed the entire harddrive. dead. (it was burning a disc and uploading pictures when that happened so with all the moving parts inside moving it killed everything. and wiped out all of my quickbooks accounting from Jan 1- now. I did back it up but only until mid April so I spent the better part of 2 days this week re-entering all my accounting. Not fun. Especially not in October when I’m already going crazy with busy season. I didn’t lose anything else on it really- everything else is backed up elsewhere. It’s just a ginormous pain in the ass replacing all of it. And the $700 I had to pay for the 2 computers to be fixed was not a thrill either.)

lost ONE sneaker. or it was stolen. But seriously- wtf are you going to do with ONE sneaker?

    5. Timmy and I got our flu shots earlier this week (J&P got theirs last week) and this year he only cried for 5 minutes. Which was a vast improvement over last year’s HOUR of hysterics. Literally one hour of hysterical screaming AFTER the shot was over. The kid was pissssssed. This year was much better and he got chocolate lollipops as a reward for being brave. Maybe next year there will be no tears? We also hit Timmy’s BFF Jack’s house last weekend for his JDRF walk party. The kid who cannot stand needles and blood and the kid who is diabetic are BFF’s. Life’s funny like that.

    6. Finally some baseball little league photos from the last few weeks. This was the third of a triple header day for the boys- they’ve been playing SO hard this year. That’s a really good thing.

The boys friend Stephen was pitching a few innings for the opposing team, so I caught a few of him for his mom. Timmy had the best seat in the house.

Hope everyone has a great Saturday. I’m off to photograph my oldest friends daughter’s Bat Mitzvah today. How did we get so old?!
