10 for Tuesday
I’ve got lots to share today, so here goes:
1. I know I have quite a few clients, prom attendees & their parents, graduates, etc waiting for their photos. I’ve been up until at least 2am pretty much every night and am working as hard as I can to get your pictures out to you. Summertime is always a little slower on the editing process as I don’t have the whole school day to myself to work, everything has to get done at night. So, just to keep you all updated, here is the order in which your pictures should be appearing on the blog. One post per day and figure a few days in there for personal posts while I edit the client shoots. Order is subject to change as well, but it’s a general outline.
Erin’s 40th
Alexis’s Bat Mitzvah
Hewitt Graduation
Elizabeth’s prom
Adam’s graduation
The Kelly Family
The Tepper Family
The Griffin Family
The DeMilt Family
Adam’s prom
2. It seems impossible that there can possibly be the sheer volume of laundry we have in this house. I’m doing at least a load a day (more like 2-3) and there is always more to do. The worst part? The freakin socks. The multiply, then divide and do some square root thing that I couldn’t calculate and ends up being 3 socks in a pair. I give up.
3. At the beach yesterday, it was a mini Ms. Jackson’s class reunion. (credit to Mary T. for the photo- thanks Mary!!) Luke (not pictured- he was in the ocean), Timmy, Mateo, Ali & Kristen. They were so glad to see eachother even though they’ve only been apart since Friday. It’ll be a great summer at the beach!!
Also pictured, Patrick with his huge sandcastle he built with Robert last weekend. They built another one today but I was rushing to make it to Adam’s on time and couldn’t take a picture.
4. John’s nasty leg and belly rash are back with a vengence. All the doctors he’s seen are saying it isn’t cellulitis again (thank god) but they don’t know what the hell it is. So they took two samples to biopsy to try to figure it out. He’s an itchy mess and I wish they could just fix it once and for all.
5. Had a date with Timmy to SushiYa and we had a great time. He chowed down on the yellowtail (it’s his favorite) and the beef teriaki (with no sauce and no sesame seeds) and rice with soy sauce. And I also spotted this awesome van in the parking lot. The name on it was Dharma Deliveries. Omg, I miss LOST.
6. Some recent flower shots. Some with the big girl camera, some with the iphone. Just cause they’re pretty. Still have to take some shots of my hydrangeas in the backyard (blue ones).
7. My friend Valerie started a blog about mom’s and their business ventures and she was nice enough to interview me for it! You can find it here: momunition
8. Spent the day Sunday at the beach with my great friend Celeste and her girls. They moved down to Georgia a few years back and the girls spend most of the summer up here with their grandparents. We all had such a great time and it was so good seeing the girls and my boys getting along so well, so quickly. They haven’t seen eachother in forever (at least 3 years) and after 10 minutes of weirdness, it was all good. They’ve known eachother since they were 3 months old and we met at Gymboree. I do love long time friends.
(ok, just ignore the fact that I’m way blurry).
9. Just so happy it’s summer! I made an executive decision a few weeks back that we weren’t doing anything this summer. No more schedules, no more waking up early with an alarm clock. Now, this has the potential to go really well or really, really badly. I’m hoping for a relaxing, fun summer with lots of last minute plans with friends, lots and lots of beach days and pool days. So far, so good. Except for some attitudes, rolling eyes and yelling (the yelling part is me) we’re doing really well. And even though it’s only been since Friday that school’s been over, Timmy has already asked when Ms. Jackson and Ms. McClain are coming over to visit him.
10. Just wanted to thank everyone who left a comment, emailed me, called me, facebooked me or told me in person on the great feedback on the birth shoot. I was already contacted by 2 expectant moms and I’m hoping we can work it out for another bunch of birth sessions!
Happy summer to everyone!! Stay tuned to the blog- lots more pictures to come!!

10 for Tuesday
It’s been quite a while since I did one of these. I’m a little rusty, so bare with me…
First a little business…
1. Looking for the perfect mothers day gift? Look no further! A bsquared gift card (available in any amount) is it!! I can have your gift card ready for the special mom in your life within an hour for pick up or mailing. And it comes already wrapped in a bsquared gift bag, so no wrapping needed! Email me at bethbeyrer@yahoo.com.
2. The bsquared calendar is now open thru the end of August, 2011. You can find it here: bsquared calendar Book your summer sessions soon (especially the limited number of beach sessions available) before they are all gone! (I booked a possible record 7 sessions since sending out the May newsletter via email last night at 8pm and this morning!)
3. Jack & Patrick got another ridiculously amazing report card, both of them with 98+ overall averages. So proud of those boys!!
The competition does tend to get a little rough.
4. Also on the Jack & Patrick front, they played in 2 baseball games on Saturday. One for the National League where they were subbing for some kids who couldn’t make their game. And one for their regular team. They won both games (yay!!) and Patrick was even awarded the game ball at the end of the second game!! Patrick said that Jack should share in the game ball for pitching a really great last inning and striking out the other team. Patrick got the winning hit for the game!! And my nephew Brendan hit a homerun! It was a come from behind victory and even I was excited! Of course, I didn’t have my camera with me. But here’s the game ball.
It was great to see them play so well, put into action the things that Coach Bryan has been working on with them, and see them get a little more confidence.
4a. Had to pop this in here cause it was too funny to leave out. My facebook status from last night: jack got stuck in the bathroom because there was a towel wedged in the door so he couldn’t open it. and patrick got toothpaste in his eye. and these are the kids with the 98+ average? oy.
5. I’ve decided I’m starting a new movement. To make those who keep us waiting (doctors, dentists, hairdressers, customer service reps, car repair people, airlines, etc) pay us back for our wasted time. I understand emergencies and technical difficulties arise in life and for those instances, no payment would need to be made. But when the wait is NOT caused by those things, I think we should get some money back from the copay or the ticket or whatever. Our time is JUST as valuable as theirs and I’m not paying for services not granted in a timely fashion. Just like I wouldn’t expect a client of mine to wait for me to start taking pictures an hour late without a phone call or an explanation. Who’s with me?
6. We are in the midst of getting our upstairs bathroom remodeled and so far it’s looking great. I can’t believe the speediness of the guys working on it and what a great and clean job they are doing! Pictures on the bathroom before, during and after coming soon. If you are looking for a great general contractor in the area, let me know. I’d be happy to pass on his name!
7. Just finished up the Dennis Lehane Kenzie & Gennaro series of 6 books. Loved them all!! Dennis Lehane is a fantastic writer and I love all of his books that I’ve read so far. I think my favorites from the series of 6 Kenzie/Gennaro books were Gone, Baby, Gone & Moonlight Mile (which is the follow up to Gone Baby Gone). Fantastic and I highly recommend all of them. Still have to read Mystic River and The Given Day to complete all his books. They are on the list.
8. Timmy has informed me that he is marrying Kristen (from his nursery school and now Kindergarten class). They really do make the perfect couple. They are both on the smaller side, only eat very specific food, really are very considerate of eachother all the time, love Disney and just look too cute together. Kristen’s mom and I have decided that the wedding will be at Disney (and then Timmy said they will ride Splash Mountain 100 times after the wedding is over). and that we will be having all of the holidays cause we aren’t going to their house for it with their limited menu of rolls, bagels and oreos. She’ll cook, I’ll cater. And Timmy told me that he’s going to tell Kristen that “I love my Legos, but I love you even more!”. She’s a lucky girl, no? Don’t worry…he’s still really tight with his girl Olivia. They sit together at lunch almost every day and had a blast at Disney together. Although she seems more interested in Patrick these days….
9. I think the boys are a bit sick of me and my camera.
10. I’m afraid to speak too soon, but my allergist (never had an allergist before this year although I should have!) put me on Astepro nasal spray for my horrible spring allergies and I think it’s actually working!! The only thing that ever worked in the past to really stop the itching, sneezing, etc was Benadryl but that just turned me into a raging b*tch. It just made me so tired that all I wanted to do was sleep and it was not a good idea for anyone to speak to me. So far, so good. My peak is usually mothers day, so time will tell if it continues to be helpful. I hope so!!
11. I’ve been doing the Couch to 5K program (via an iphone app) with my friend Heidi for 5 weeks now, and yesterday was a real milestone. I ran (ok, jogged really slow but it was still jogging) for 20 minutes. In a row!! Never, ever before have I done that. Ever. Everyone says speed doesn’t matter (which is good because people walking quickly can pass me while I’m ‘running’- will work on speed after I can do 30 min of running on a regular basis which will still be a while) but I’m pretty excited I actually did it!! Next run day is back to interval training with walking and running. Week 6 coming up!

the 21st annual rvc education foundation gala
I was asked to photograph the gala again this year, and of course I happily said yes! It was a great night with lots of fun speeches by the honorees and the people presenting them with their awards. And tons of great raffle and silent auction prizes to be won. I had a wonderful time seeing everyone and taking lots of pictures. Here are a few from the evening:
The honorees. All teachers in the elementary schools for over 30 years each.
The fabulous education foundation committee. The gala co-chairpersons, Delia & Norma, and Darren Raymar- principal & MC for the evening. The fabulous girls who always make sure bsquared is in the journal!Shirley Johnson who is still teaching at Watson School. Proud husband, son & brother. Judy Birnbaum (& her proud family) who has retired but is subbing at Covert.
And Paula Genovesi who had the most laughs for her speech!Paula’s proud and happy family. Faces in the crowd. Me and DRAY. We’ve come a long way from living in the same building in Long Beach. -
new old pictures
Just came across these today. I think I must’ve been saving them for a specific purpose but I now have no idea what that purpose may have been. But I love them and am glad I’m posting them now. From our October 2010 trip out east. In a no trespassing area of the docks. But really, I was actually supposed to pass up this wall? C’mon.
I’d just like to add how proud I am of my boys. Especially the big ones this past week. They are working so hard at everything- baseball (practices with their trainer), drums (in the all-district band concert and NYSSMA), school (waiting on those progress reports but I have no doubt they’ll be awesome), Jack’s starting a band with his friends for the middle school talent show, and getting ready for St. Baldricks (getting their heads shaved this Saturday while raising money for kids with cancer). It’s not too late to donate if you are interested. You can find them here: Jack’s page & here: Patrick’s page. They have surpassed their goal, but they continue to accept donations thru Saturday. They are good boys.
In related news, I was contacted by St. Baldricks and asked to volunteer to photograph as much of the event as I can for them. They’ll use my pictures for advertising, on their blog, website, etc. They found me online and liked what they saw I guess, so now I’m in. So if you are there and getting shaved or shaving look for me with my camera and smile!
And in other news, we will be renovating our upstairs bathroom (the boys bathroom) next month. Lots of before and after pictures to come soon so be on the lookout for those. I was able to pick out everything this morning from fixtures, to towel rods, to tub, vanity and toilet, medicine cabinets, and tile for the tub, floor and accents. Bam. Done. (If only the rest of the construction process was that fast and easy, right!?)
One last thing- if you a blog stalker in the Milwaukee, St. Paul or Chicago areas and you are interested in a photoshoot with me this August, please email me at bethbeyrer@yahoo.com to set something up. Maybe I can avoid all of the baseball games and just take pictures!? I can hope.

…and the winner is.
I used random.org to select a number between 1-30 (the number of comments on the FB post of those entered in the giveaway) and the lucky # was 17. Janice Burke! Congratulations, Janice on your $150 bsquared gift card!! Email me at bethbeyrer@yahoo.com and let me know when you’d like to pick it up.
A new blog post coming tomorrow. Not sure what it’ll be yet (either more of Christine & Jayson’s wedding, more Disney vacation or a 15 for Friday. Depends on what I can get done tonight and if I fall asleep in the black hole again!) but it’ll be something for sure.
Until tomorrow…
