    16. version 1

Put this mosaic together and figured it was perfect for a little smattering of pictures from our Dec/Jan trip to Florida. There are more than what can fit in 16, so there will be another few mosaics coming up.

All of the pictures were taken with the point n shoot and taken by either Timmy, Jack, Patrick or John. I think I took like one.

    11. Patrick at golf range (good form, no?)

    12. more football (it was my, timmy’s and the boy’s first NFL game ever. And we only made it thru the first half because everyone was HOT and tired and whiney).

    the trai family

A little backstory here to set the scene so to speak. Dean and I were friends way back in high school and lost touch after that (although we were both in Florida for college, just different schools). We reconnected on Facebook (of course) and I guess he’s been following my blog. When he saw that I was going to be down in S. Florida in December/January he asked if I would be willing to come over to his ‘side’ of the state and do a shoot in Sanibel/Captiva. And although it was my vacation after a craaaazy few months I thought it would be so fun to do. Besides, I had never been to the west coast (sad but true, even after living in Fla for 5 years!) and we made a family trip out of it.

    web127

Met Dean’s lovely wife and two gorgeous daughters. And it was so great seeing him after all these years, too.

When the first picture of the shoot is the one on the left (look at that yummy light!) you know it’s gonna be all good.

The girls were sweet and so gorgeous. Could’ve taken their pictures ALL day but we were racing the sunset, so there was limited time.

The little one is such a pip. We went out to dinner after the shoot and all she did was walk up to me at the table and smile. Of course when I asked her to smile (or did silly things to get her to smile) it was like pulling teeth. Stinker!

The older daughter is so SO smart. And beautiful and sweet. Great combination. She also rides horses (quite well I’m told). She has such a beautiful spirit that totally shines thru in all the pictures.

The water was really pretty cold (you can see it on their faces as the tide came up) but the beach was so beautiful.

Such a happy couple!! And thanks Tami for the shells!!

I had such a great time hanging out with you and taking lots of pictures for you. Dinner at the Bubble Room was the perfect end to the day and I’m so glad our kids all got along so well.

Hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I loved taking them!

    you are here.

For whatever reason, signs that say ‘you are here’ make me happy. If we’re going deep, maybe it’s a reminder that we are all here for a reason. That we should live in the present. Or (not deep, just practical) just so I know I’m not entirely lost.

    web153

And a sign like that made me extra happy- being at my alma mater — University of Miami on our trip to Florida. We were originally on our way down to Miami Metro Zoo, but it was late and chilly so we ended up just stopping at campus and walking around. And shopping, of course.

    web59

So, this is the campus. No, really. It is. It looks like a country club or an island resort, but it’s campus. And maybe that’s why I got a 1.74 GPA and Mono my first semester. (totally true.)

    web124

I did have a really nice tan, though. Spent a lot of time at the pool laying out when I should have been in class. Or if not at the pool, on the ledge of the dorm. Yeah, the ledge 8 stories above the ground with no railings where we had no business being? Yeah, there.

    web29

    web95

The lobby of my dorm for the 1st two years at Miami (then moved off campus). And the view on the walk to class. When I actually went to class, that is.

    web134

I mean seriously people- can you blame me? Who can go to class when it looks like this outside in the middle of the winter.

And those damn chickenduck things who were so ugly (and still are) and pooped all over the walkways all the time. Ugh.

    web183

Really, really looking forward to going back down with Robin (my suitemate and bff from Miami) in March and visiting the rest of campus and some other old Miami places!! No doubt there will be pictures.

    have not fallen

off the face of the earth. Yet.

I know I haven’t blogged in a few days (sorry, blog stalkers) but really trying to finish editing sections of the wedding before posting anything else. Should have a nice new blog post for you tomorrow.

And just one for today… John took it while we were visiting University of Miami. Go ‘canes! (and yes, it looks like a country club, not a college campus)

    10 for Tuesday

Not much to report today, but I know my blog stalkers would be dissapointed if there was no new blog post today.

    1. A few shots from sunset on the beach in Florida. Wish I was still there. Really, really wish it. Only 35 more days until we leave again.

    web4

    web5

    2. I am trying to still get the new imac set up to my liking although I do have to report that I am LOVING it! This 27″ screen is da bomb and I keep losing things on it cause I forget to look in the corners! It’s gonna be awesome for editing though- can’t wait to get started on that.

    3. I’m working on getting all my loose ends from November and December tied up (not to mention the shoots that have not been edited from 2009 yet, and the new 2010 shoots too). If you have booked a shoot for 2010 with me, you can expect a confirmation shortly (hopefully today).

    4. I fell asleep in the black hole that is Timmy’s bed last night at around 8:45pm. While very restful, it means that I didn’t get anything done last night from my lengthy list. Hopefully that will happen today.

    5. I still really hate supermarket (aka stupidmarket) shopping. A lot.

    6. Got a ton of forms in to fill out for Timmy for Kindergarten registration for next year. It makes my heart hurt just a little to think he’s going to be big enough for Kindergarten in a few months. Gotta really enjoy this summer.

    7. On above said forms, one of the questions was something like “what language does the child understand?”. Now, if I was filling out those forms for the big boys, I think the answer would be “not sure”. I swear to god they do not listen in english cause I know I’m speaking in english, but they don’t seem to be able to comprehend one single word I’m saying.

    8. I was informed my bathroom is ‘ghetto’. Ok, so my pedestal sink is broken (cracked on one side from where the medicine cabinet fell off the wall and crashed down onto the sink) and we haven’t gotten it replaced yet. It’s all taped up on that side with white duck tape. And it was like a year ago that this happened. Eh, I’ll get to it when I get to it. So, it’s ghetto. Whatever.

    9. We are also in the market for either new couches for the den or to get the current couches reapoulstered. Does anyone know of a good & reasonable place for an estimate in the area? Or any good furniture stores that you like? Need big mushy, comfy couches in there that will take a big beating daily.

    10. There was a bigger response to the photography lessons than I had thought there would be. Working on getting back to everyone who is interested, so if you emailed or facebooked me, expect a reply shortly.

Hope you all have a great day!
