ssms football vs. baldwin
The last game of the season and I was there with my camera (really, you’re surprised?). I really had a great time photographing the team this year and hope to do it again next year. Even though the last game of the season was a pretty big loss, it was still fun. Thanks again to Coach D who let me on the field for the home games!
So happy I don’t have to wash those pants anymore. Well, until next year. A few cute little faces at the game, too. This little guy belongs to one of the high school coaches. And you’ll probably remember this little adorable lady from her big arrival into her family earlier this year. Jack. Patrick was being a little camera shy this game. Good job on a great season, boys!!

the most miserable mummy {aka halloween 2011}
Finally did a super quick edit of the Halloween photos. For those of you who follow me on Facebook, you know that Timmy cried for the entire parade at his school. Still don’t really know why. Maybe because he didn’t like his costume anymore. Maybe cause he doesn’t like being the center of attention (but mind you the whole school marches in the parade so no one would’ve been really looking at him anyway!) Who knows? But when he came out of school after the parade and party, he was nothing but smiles. I was relived and ready to strangulate the kid all at once.
Here’s the most miserable mummy.
During the parade:Aunt Heidi came along to watch the parade too. Some of my friends kids in their (very adorable) costumesTimmy’s friend Liam who we were going to go TOT’ing with but his sister was under the weather so we just went on our own.And the most merry mummy who came out for the rest of the day. The face on the right is him ‘being dead’. And even deader. No Halloween would be complete without a trip to the ‘scary house’. Fits right in with all the zombie apocalypse stuff as of late.Whenever I look at the picture on the right, Thriller starts playing in my head. Love some evil clowns. Nightmares for months! And cause I couldn’t leave you with the scary stuff last, here’s some more of Timmy. And before you ask why there are no pictures of Jack & Patrick, please note that they were at football practice until 5:20pm, didn’t go trick or treating and didn’t want to get dressed up this year. Sniff.

south side middle school football vs. lawrence road
First, let me assure all of you waiting for your images that I am working hard on getting everyone’s shoots edited and will resume ‘regular’ posting tomorrow. Since the boys football coach was nice enough to ask me to take pictures at the home games and even let me on the field to do so, I wanted to get these posted before their next game tomorrow.
Jack was pretty excited being that this was his first real game since missing a bunch of practices and scrimmages from his oral surgery. Finally suited up and on the field! First a bunch of pix of my boys:
And then a bunch of pictures of the whole team. Being on the field let me take pictures like this:Thanks again, Coach! And good luck to the Spartans on their game tomorrow!

super sports sunday
It is sports central around here this year. The boys started playing football for the middle school team, and are playing on two baseball teams- a Little League town team and a NJBL travel team. So you can imagine the schedule lately. They have football practice every day from 3-5, a football game 1x a week, a LL weekday evening game, a LL weekend game and a travel team double header every Sunday. And somewhere in there they have religion weekly and homework every night. There are some days that they get home from football practice with barely enough time to change into baseball uniforms, shove down some dinner and get to the field for a baseball game. Throw in orthodontist and doctors appointments that have been rescheduled no less than 4x each, and you can see why I’m losing it. So far, they’ve been great about all of it (because they really want to play- all of it!), not complaining and getting themselves packed up the night before. The deal was that if grades start to slip at all, they have to give up something. But so far, so good.
So here’s some of their football scrimmage this past week. They have their first game on Tuesday. Jack isn’t able to play quite yet (and yes, he is so bummed) because of the oral surgery he had recently he missed a bunch of practices and he has to have a certain amount of practice time in before he can start playing in games and scrimmages. But they are both playing at Defensive Tackle and Patrick is loving it so far!! The first scrimmage was against Hempstead and the 2 guys up against Patrick were right out of the movie The Blind Side. Huge. Really huge. Like over 6 feet and 200+ huge. But he lived to play again another day.
Omg, my son looks like a football player!
Tommy.A football version of American Gothic? No, I don’t know why he has his water bottle on his head. My favorite. Can’t wait until they are both playing!!And some baseball from yesterday’s LL game. Where Uncle That Guy is the manager and John is a coach. Keepin it all in the family.
Cousin Brendan at catcher. Timmy chillin in the dugout. And I’m off to a 5 shoot day with hopefully, finally good weather. See you all here tomorrow with a whole new week of client sessions.

10 for Tuesday
Another tuesday, another tenfor.
1. So Sunday was my 42nd birthday. And after 10 years of my birthday being on 9/11 (ok, my birthday has always been on 9/11 but not THE 9/11) I have to say that it hasn’t gotten any better. Spent the morning and into the early afternoon watching the memorial on TV (I cannot not watch it.) and crying. Saw my friend and babysitter Liz reading the names at the memorial to honor her father and uncle who were both lost on that horrible day. Saw the names of many RVC residents, many of which I knew, went to school with, know the families. And the whole day just sucks. All I remember is the fear, the incomprehensible events of the whole day, the not knowing when it was going to end, and the mayor saying the loss of life would be ‘more than any of us can bear’. Watching people fall to their deaths. Not lost. Murdered. So, it’s impossible for me to get happy that day. I think after 10 years of trying to enjoy my birthday (a day which I loved until 10 years ago) is obviously a fruitless effort. A lot of people say that a birthday is a bright light on an otherwise horrible day. I disagree- there is no light that day. I decided next year I will be celebrating my birthday on 9/13. And if it was legally possible to change your birthday, I would.
2. Now that I depressed you (sorry), moving on to the good part of the birthday. Presents! Looky what I got!! (the amazing Tiffany purse is from John- the guy is on a roll lately with the great presents!- thank you JohnnyB!!, the camera is from me to…me!, and the little tin of candy sushi was made by my friend Beth and her son Stephen- super cute!) Oh, and the frame which coincidently matches the Tiffany box and bag is a little sneak preview for you of some of the custom frames I’ll be offering starting next week!
3. So the new camera is a 5d mark ii. And as my friend Kate would say… “I’m a smitten kitten”! All the better to take your picture with my dears. And really, how cute is that bag!?!
4. The big boys are playing on 3 different teams this fall. Middle school football (their first time playing), Little League fall baseball, and an NJBL travel team. And wow, the schedule is just overwhelming. I’m not sure how this is going to work out for them and when they’ll have time to do homework or eat some nights. But if we see that school is suffering from all the activities, something will have to go. Should be an interesting fall, huh?
5. For those of you who’s bsquared sessions are still coming up, you’ll be getting a new little add on in your order bags. A little brochure with all my new product offerings in it. I also found a new iphone case maker that you can design yourself today. So be on the lookout for those being offered soon too! Christmas is coming, afterall.
6. Been doing some shopping for the house and for the business (and sometimes the two kinda run into eachother) and have gotten some super cool new stuff.
New pottery barn coffee table (and another little sneak peek of the custom frames in the background)
New pillows and blankets. (I’m sure some of the blankets will make their way into a newborn shoot or two)An old bread bowl. Again, can’t you just see the little baby all smooshed up in there with some nice squishy blankets?Old rangefinder cameras. Going to get them cleaned up and try them out. Should be interesting and I can’t wait to try to shoot with film!
7. Heard a great quote yesterday about photography. It’s a camera, not a magic wand. Love!! (the bunny has nothing to do with anything, but he’s cute)
8. So you know how I have that Edward Norton thing, right? My cousin emailed me the other day to let me know that his movie 25th hour (which I love!) was playing in NYC on Sunday evening. With an appearance by the man himself. Yes, Edward Norton live and in person. And I couldn’t go. Didn’t want to go into NYC on 9/11. Ridiculous? Maybe. Did I blow my shot at meeting him? Possibly. I’m convinced it will happen some day. Any help available from any of you blog stalkers?
9. Today is picture day at Timmy’s school and I bought a package. The pictures are usually pretty bad but I feel too guilty not to buy them. I just get the lowest package, but I hate doing it.
10. Have some fun & styled shoots (of my own kids anyway) coming up on the blog soonish. Stay tuned. (the flowers don’t have anything to do with anything either. but i hate posting without pictures)
Have a great Tuesday everyone!
