visitors day(s)- more catching up
Yeah, so this is a little late but I guess that’s what the catching up is all about. Visitors day at Jack & Patrick’s school back in MAY!!! and Timmy’s camp in early July. Some with the point n shoot, some with the big guns. Happy Sunday, everyone.
Boys and grandmas and the houses that they built to withstand a hurricane (which was a leaf blower).

5th grade graduation
Some of the 5th grade graduates from June 2010. Congratulations to the whole graduating class and I hope all of you are enjoying your summer. See you in Middle School!

jack & patrick graduate
Ok, so obviously this happened a while ago but I am still so far behind (like I haven’t even touched the pictures from our trip to Jamaica in May yet!) so I figured I should post these before they start Middle School in September!
Still cannot belive that they are done with elementary school and will be heading off to Middle School in the fall. And that they will be 11 this summer. How did any of this happen?? They are some good looking kids (if I do say so myself!) And oh my god- I can see how they will look when they graduate Harvard in this picture!! (yeah, really have to book more shoots if they are going Ivy League!) Although, they are still leaning toward Georgetown (Patrick) and Boston College (Jack) at this point.
Receiving their Presidential awards for Academic Achievement. So proud of them, and I think they were pretty proud of themselves too!! Patrick also won the Math Olympiads award for highest scorer for 5th grade. (before his haircut!) And some friends from school (really whoever I could grab on the way out the last day!) Patrick and Mrs. Glass, Jack and Ms. Linker. We lucked out with the teachers this year. They were both so wonderful and really pushed the boys to do their best! The whole 5th grade was “clapped out” by all the other students in the school. Such a great end to their time at school! To any school parents who are checking the blog and waiting for graduation pictures that I took- hang in there, I’m working on them! Just trying to edit shoots in the order in which I took them. Another week or so, I think.

7 for Sunday
1. LOST- I still am just as lost as I was when I started watching this show in the beginning, but I loved every minute of the 6 seasons and am SO sad it’s over. I really loved the finale and adored watching all the couples remember eachother. It was (to me) the only ‘thinking persons’ tv show on (other than Carnivale where I also didn’t know wtf was going on, but it was so good and I was (and am still) so mad when they cancelled it) and I’m waiting til season 6 comes out and thinking about a big, fat LOST marathon with the big boys this summer.
2. Inconsiderate people suck. Our neighbors had a garage sale last weekend and not one but 3 different people parked right in front of our driveway throughout the course of the day. It was so freakin rude and made we wish I had a big giant crappy car so I could just ram right thru their cars and into my driveway. So annoying and inconsiderate. I would never park in front of someone’s driveway. How do you do that and just walk away?
3. ipad air hockey app is awesome. No, I don’t have the ipad but we stopped in the Apple store at the mall last weekend on our boys/mom night out and tried it out. I LOVE air hockey and that app was so cool. I want the ipad just for that!
4. We have a bird’s nest inside our wreath hanging on the front of the house. There are even a few little blue sparrow eggs in there. So far the mommy bird and I are co-existing peacefully but I’m fully expecting to be dive bombed once the babies hatch. Holy Tippy Hendren.
5. Went on a not so little shopping spree to B&H in the city this week and bought myself all kinds of goodies including 2 new delicious lenses. The 70-200mm 2.8L and the 100mm macro lens. Took a bunch of pictures with them but especially with the 70-200 since buying them on Tuesday. Uh….love!
6. A bunch from the boys recent games (all taken with the 70-200). Grandpa Jack has been coming to all the boys games(and I do mean ALL the boys; Jack & Patrick’s, Timmy’s, Brendan’s & Sean’s). I think he likes it as much as they enjoy seeing him in the stands! John has been ‘coach pitching’ for Timmy’s team, and the boys had some good hits and catches in their latest game which I hung out for. They are playing so much better (yay Coach Bryan!) and the games are fun to watch. I was even upset when they called their game in the 4th inning for rain/thunder/lightening. Whoever thought I would be upset that a game was called?
7. Jack & Patrick had their spring concert this week, and I got to use the new lens for that too! Took a few pictures from backstage too (big thanks to Beth W. for getting me back there!!). I figured it was their last concert at Hewitt so I did whatever I could to get some good shots of the drumming since they are all the way in the back it’s always hard. They did SO good at the concert and I was so proud of them! All those years of drum lessons and practice paid off for sure (thanks Jim and Hakka for getting them the lessons)! The boys also tried out for middle school band percussion this week as there are 20 elementary school drummers and only 8-12 spots in middle school to fill. I’m hoping they BOTH make it. I’ll keep you posted. And the chorus portion of the night was fantastic- especially the Lion King medley.
Hope everyone has a wonderful, sunny and safe Memorial Day weekend. Can’t believe we’re at the unofficial start of summer already! I also hope that everyone takes a few minutes at the minimum to remember the real reason for this holiday and takes the time to remember and thank the troops who have given their lives so that we can live freely and safely. And their families who support them. And all the troops who are fighting today to keep us safe.
