kate’s bat mitzvah
It was so great hearing from mom when she booked me for her daughter’s bat mitzvah, as we went to elementary school together. Other than the high school reunion a few years ago, I haven’t seen her since high school-well, except on Facebook. It was great to reconnect and meet her lovely family. Both the service and the reception were held at the Head of the Bay Club in Huntington. Fabulous light, awesome views and an especially excellent bat mitzvah girl!

ella’s bat mitzvah
Had the pleasure of photographing this lovely young lady’s bat mitzvah. Since their temple is conservative, no pictures could be taken on the Sabbath, so we met twice. Once the day before her big day to do some pictures in the temple, and then the next day at her celebration. The party was at Warehouse 5 (they always do a great job) and everyone was having a great time which made my job nice and easy! Especially loved the part beforehand where we got to go outside for some portraits on the super awesome grounds under the bridge. Even though it was freeeeeeezing, Ella was a trouper and we got some fun stuff. And btw, is that not the coolest Yad (the pointer for reading the torah) you’ve ever seen? A lacrosse stick. Loved that!!

gilly’s bat mitzvah
After knowing Gilly’s sister for years and years (Timmy and Kendall were in nursery school together), I was so excited to shoot her big day! We snuck in a few photos in Temple (the Garden City Jewish Center, with the nicest Rabbi ever) before her service and shot the whole awesome, colorful, fun party at the Posh Club at the Garden City Hotel. Everyone had such a good time, mom & dad included. It was a wonderful party for a wonderful girl!

jack’s bar mitzvah
With big thanks to my client/friend Liz, I got to shoot a most awesome and fun bar mitzvah up in White Plains. This is a GREAT family, so chill and fun and the bar mitzvah boy just had the best smile and personality. Made the day so much fun to shoot! And mom did an absolutely amazing job with the decor/theme for the day- there are a ton of pictures so make sure you get thru the end.
Love a fun Rabbi!I was total ninja photographer for this one. So totally against the rules, but the door was open and it was a great moment. The signs of a successful party.

mikey’s coming of age party
I’m still here, just had a few sessions I wasn’t able to post so even though I’ve been busy you wouldn’t know it! So I’m back with this fabulous session– on a boat!! Mikey turned 13 and in lieu of a bar mitzvah or a confirmation (he’s part Jewish, part Catholic) the Unitarian Church he goes to has a “coming of age” ceremony combining some of the traditions from each religion and a few of their own. His party was on the Freeport Princess and was super fun (for me, too!)
Its hard to see, but Shari is inadvertently sitting on her son.
