the dani cake smash
Little Miss L is celebrating the big ONE and to help make the occassion extra special her parents set up a little photoshoot for her complete with a cake smash. We had a great time wandering around the park and exploring lots of different places that Miss L found fun. Isn’t she just the cutest!?
Loved her little crawl on hands and feet so she wouldn’t scrape her knees. Gorgeous and clever! Yeah, the hat lasted about 6 seconds. But that was long enough to get the shot! A little peekaboo in the cutest tutu.
And the cake. Love the expression on the right- like ‘is this really all for me?!” It got way messier as the cake wore on, but she wore it well. Happy Birthday L!! -
the ricc birthday party
Taking just a small break from Caren & Tim’s Jamaican wedding while I try to catch up on some of the 21 other outstanding shoots I have waiting to be edited. Still more to come from the wedding so stay tuned for that next week.
Check out this adorable birthday girl and her dressup/makeup/modeling/princess birthday party. She’s the daughter of my Pilates trainer who I love (Hi, Karen!!) and was seriously just as sweet as could be.
Shooting this dress up birthday party was a little different than the other ones I shot since the girls were little and so much shyer than the older girls parties I took pictures at (well, for the most part. Some of them were all about the posing.)
While others were all about the dancing.
Took a few of the birthday girl’s gorgeous brothers too.And grandparents. Such a good looking family!
And I think it’s safe to say that someone was pretty excited about her cake!
Thanks for having me over to photograph the party. I know everyone had a great time!

the ditc birthday party
I’m off with the family to Jamaica this morning (where we hopefully won’t die in a firey plane crash. You know how I love to fly.) to shoot a fantastically fabulous destination wedding. I’m not sure if the crackberry will work down there or not, so if you email me and are waiting for a reply, I’ll get back to everyone once I’m back next week.
As my last post until I’m back, please enjoy the very fun pictures from Hannah’s birthday party. I’ve done a few of these dress up parties (and have one more scheduled soon) and they are always so fun and make me laugh the whole time I’m shooting.
Hannah and her sister are two of my most favorite subjects. They are gorgeous girls with wonderful personalities and just such a pleasure. And you can see my camera feels the same way about them as I do.
And a little mosaic of most of the outfits the girls put together for the party. So funny and cute! Great job girls!!!

the long surprise party
A client of mine celebrated her dad’s birthday recently with a big surprise party, and was nice enough to call me to capture it. The party was at Meribah which is the retreat house for Chaminade and was a lovely location.
I think the surprise was really a surprise, which actually surprised everyone that they were able to pull it off.
They are a really fun family and while I got some ‘nice, posed’ shots, this one with them laughing is still my favorite.
And it looked like everyone had a great time, which is what parties are all about! Thanks so much for having me along to capture the evening- hope you like the pictures!

the rest of Timmy’s birthday vegetable
I lumped the party and the portraits and the after part all together. Figuring my blog readers might be getting a little tired of personal/Timmy posts. Can’t be helped though so just skip it if you’re done reading and seeing pictures of him. But, I don’t really see how that could be possible…
A few birthday portraits. Timmy decided to wear a tie again for his birthday party. It didn’t last too long, but it sure was cute! And I swear, the tie is all his idea. He first told me he wanted to wear his Giants jersey, but as I was pulling it down he told me “nope. forget it. I want to wear a tie!” And really, who am I to say no?
The cupcakes were made by Emily Arnone Cakes and were fantastic as always. And oh so cute. With oreos, of course.
Some snapshots from the party:
The pinata. It was a Cubs one (that’s what he chose when they didn’t have any mets ones).
And some cake at home to complete the birthday vegetable. It was superbowl sunday after all, hence the football cake.
Happy Birthday again, my 5 year old boy. I love you!
