kara’s senior session
Meet rising high school senior Kara. The sweetest, most outgoing girl you’ve ever met. And gorgeous to boot! She was immediately like my new friend the minute she got out of the car and was just bubbly and fun the entire session. You’ll see that pretty much ALL of her pictures are of her smiling- thats because even when i told her to be serious, she would be laughing the next second. It was great and obviously her personality so i figured i should just let that shine thru and not make her try to be something she’s not. I had a blast with Kara, I hope you do too by seeing her big personality in her photos!

So it seems everytime we have a shoot, there is some apocalypse of nature taking place. Well, this year was definitely no different. We had swarms of biting bugs, crazy humidity, then rain. The dog got kicked off the beach by the very unnice beach police, and the girls hair was frizzing from the rain. But somehow this perfect family pulled it off and still looked like the perfect family. Annoying, right? Even the umbrella was cute. It would be if they weren’t SO nice! Can’t wait to see what next year’s shoot holds- maybe hail? An earthquake?

the arno family
This fab family actually lives full time in London, but they were here for the summer renting in Long Beach, so of course we had to do a beach session! This year’s weather was so bad so often that I guess it was inevitable that within literally 5 minutes of starting our session, it started drizzling (it had been nice out up until that point!) and the wind got crazy. Of course it did. But they were heading back home to London so we really didn’t have a choice but to proceed and make it work as best we could. Thanks to everyone for being cool and making the best of it!

the schm family
Now that all the christmas cards have been mailed and received, i feel like i can post all of my summer and fall sessions. So here’s a favorite family at a favorite location! The bugs for this shoot were absolutely out of freaking control and we were all bitten up like crazy! But we still made it work and had some fun. Happy to report that their oldest son is now a freshman at Regis High School and I’m lucky enough to have become friends with mom and had some fun lunches and phone calls!

I was so happy to photograph this awesome crew again, back at their beach club (Lawrence Beach Club) which looks like a plantation house on the beach. Gorgeous! Their son is still not into smiling for pictures and he’s a toughie, I cannot break him! But he was happy nonetheless and we were all over the beach for the best spots and the most gorgeous sunset! Their daughter is off to college in the fall which I cannot even believe. She was just 8 last week.
