    the leho family

This whole family is just one of those that I just clicked with from our first session last year. I was so excited to do their beach session as I knew it would be a great time, and it was! Windy, jumping, sandy, laughing fun.

The girl can seriously fly!Handsome devil, this one. There’s just something I love about this picture.Gotta love a family that really knows how to loosen up and have some fun.

    the barr’s

Father & son and Asbury Park. I’ve waited a zillion years (ok, more like 4 or 5) to shoot down in Asbury but never got the opportunity. We even had this shoot scheduled for last summer but the week we had on the calendar it rained constantly. So I finally, finally got to shoot there with a totally awesome father & son duo- all worth the wait.

We were all over the boardwalk area- the wonder bar, the casino, the beach, the pinball museum, everywhere. If I waited a zillion years to shoot there, you know I wanted to cover it all.

The colors were awesome and everywhere! There were not a whole lot of smiles with teeth given freely but he’s so cute it didn’t really matter that much.Rich had to mention that he had the t-shirt long before the show. Rich said his work photo is too corporate. Tried to get him some new ones. Pinball wizard maybe? (i’m so old!)The poor kid was such a trooper stopping everyplace I asked up and down(and up and down) the boardwalk. He was exhausted. The water was a little colder than anticipated.Yay, teeth! I have my funny moments. But I think his dad has more.I’ve known Rich since I’m 15. I just make fun of his old not-red Nova to get him to laugh. Works every time. (or he just gets progressively more annoyed.)

Those sneakers & laces couldn’t have worked out better. I think they love each other just a bit. Thanks for a great session and it was totally worth the ride to NJ. Ok, who’s booking Asbury next?!

    “what the hell is that?!?”

Is exactly what Jack said when he saw THIS on the beach yesterday:

Yup, that’s John. Out of his chair, without his newspaper and PLAYING CORNHOLE ON THE BEACH!!!! This is a very, very big deal. The man doesn’t leave his chair much and hasn’t for the 13 summers we’ve been down at Sun and Surf. You can pretty much always find him in the same spot, reading the paper, drinking his beer, wearing his hat and listening to the Mets and not really talking to anyone too much. (he will play a game of catch with the boys, go in the pool or ocean with them, but this is unheard of) But yesterday, there was this.

This is what things have always looked like (even during the flood of 2010):

Then Jack said “AND he’s being social?” The kid’s sharp but the whole thing was completely blowing his mind.  Total confusion. And in other beach news, it was a fantastic (although shocking) day down at Sun & Surf. Christine, Jayson, Tommy & new baby Charlotte joined us for the day and the boys were so happy to have all their buddies down there to hang out with and play lots and lots of baseball.Baby Charlotte enjoying her first day at the beach at three weeks old. She was all wrapped up and under the umbrellas all day and was happy as could be.The Tom half of Timtom. And the Tim half of Timtom. After a great day and the rain holding off until we were literally walking to the car  we came back home and ordered some pizza. Charlotte had her own meal and then had a little photoshoot of her own (pictures on that soon).Hope you all had a great first day of summer! I think we’re off to a great start- and I took this whole weekend off!

    the gold family

A super fun beach session on a luckily warm day in April. Mom requested a bit more of a candid session, so there was a lot of playing and laughing going on the whole time- and that included me!

Mom and I went to high school together (not the same grade though) and I think high school was the last time we saw eachother!Such cute boys!!This kid had NO fear. She was so brave!Even though the hand holding only lasted for a second, I’m glad I caught it.

    10 for tuesday

Been a looooooong time since I did one of these- let’s see if I can make it to 10!

    1. A few weeks ago, John & I went to Timmy’s school for visitors day. The program was adorable- loved the singing and the whole weather theme. Was so pleasantly surprised that Timmy sang and smiled the whole time! (he’s not much for singing in public).

    2. We made sure that we got a shot of John & Tommy stuffed into the little first grade desks. Denice and I used to talk about this when the big kids were babies- so funny cause our kids have been together in classes all these years and I think this is the second or third shot of Tommy & John in the little desks…

    3. Read a new book recently- Heaven is Here by Stephanie Nielsen. Totally different than my ‘normal’ reads, but it was great and very inspiring. Which I think was the point. I read Stephanie’s blog all the time so I was looking forward to reading her book about her recovery and life. Definitely recommend it!

    4. The boys, John and the Healy men went to opening day for the Mets at Citi Field a little while back. They are all SO happy that baseball is back. I, on the other hand….

    5. If we normally run into eachother in real life, I apologize in advance for the next few weeks. My spring allergies are in full swing and the only thing that works is benadryl. So I’m b*tchy and on about a 5 second delay all day. A lovely combination.

    6. The boys are really enjoying their iphones and Timmy loves his Kindle Fire. Their favorite games right now are Stack the Countries and Stack the States. I love them too, and there are a ton of countries out there that I really know nothing about. Like Pakiscandinavia.

    7. The weather here has been so nice, we hit the beach for a little bit the other day. Cannot wait until that’s EVERY day!! I finally finished cleaning out the garage from the giant purge of the winter and donated the rest of the items to the St. Mary’s Outreach Center down in Long Beach. They were so nice and very appreciative, and it was a good thing for the boys to see. Since we were just down the block from the beach, it was definitely time for a visit.

    8. Saw this cool wedding seating chart a while back in Garden City and snapped an iphone picture. I wish I had something like this at my wedding- so pretty!

    9. In a giant bubble war with my dad. He always beats me. I think his high score is 19,500+. So frustrating!!

    10. Lots more Organic Bloom frames, window frames and a few families coming up on the blog soon. (ok this last one is kinda cheating but I’m all out of ideas). Shooting a newborn today- a big, chunky one who weighed in at 9lbs, 4oz at birth. And waiting on a birth session (I hope!) any day now…
