the “vector academy” graduation
These best friends parents put on a special graduation for them because one of the friends was leaving for the Air Force Academy prior to the actual Manhasset High School graduation. Since he’d miss graduating with his friends they made sure he did! How awesome is that?! The whole Vector thing is some big inside joke that I won’t even get into, but suffice it to say these boys are friends for life. The video montage was awesome- moving and hysterically funny as was the speech by the Air Force dad. Wishing them all nothing but luck in the future. It’s a bright one for these guys!

manhasset banner day
I got a last minute call to shoot Manhasset High School’s banner day, as their usual photographer was unavailable. Being that like 1/2 of the graduating class are my existing clients (ok, that might be a bit of an exaggeration, but there’s a LOT of them!) I was so happy to participate a bit in another special day for them. Banner day is for all Varsity athlete graduating seniors- everyone gets a banner (great work by the photographer who took those pictures and put together these beautiful banners!) and their name announced on the track. And there was a very special presentation for one young man who missed the actual Manhasset HS graduation because he was off to the Air Force Academy, so they surprised him with a little psuedo graduation. That was so awesome! Stay tuned for many more Manhasset doings here, coming soon!

nate’s graduation dinner
Big congratulations to Nate and family on his graduation from Friends Academy and his acceptance to Cornell! Big things happening for this young man! The dinner at Toku looked amazing (I had sushi there another day and it was deeeelicious!) and I was so happy to hang out with this awesome family. Please send them some good thoughts today- all is well, there’s just some stuff going on they could use some good juju for. Can’t wait to hear all about Cornell at our next session!

gabby’s graduation
My favorite tiny dancer graduated from 8th grade and is off on all kinds of new adventures! She is still dancing for the NYC Ballet (The School of American Ballet/SAB) so with moving up as you get older and get asked back, high school becomes more and more difficult to coordinate with professional dance. So she’ll be going to public school and going back and forth to nyc daily (such a busy schedule). And that’s after a summer dance intensive all the way on the other side of the country. So exciting! And I love the rest of this family- the littlest boy was literally rolling around in the grass in his jacket and dress pants when I arrived for the shoot. The middle son is all heart, as shown thru his flower petal he found. Loving it! And them.

julia graduates nyu
Big congratulations to Julia on graduating New York University! Although we have differing opinions on her employment (she works for the Rangers. So, no. I am a huge Islanders fan if that wasn’t apparent.) I wish her nothing but the best in her very exciting future!! We had to reschedule the session a few times but finally made it work. Washington Square park was crazy busy with other graduates, but we found some spots to shoot that were a little quieter.
