caren & tim’s jamaican wedding-the rehearsal dinner
Finally, starting to get the wedding pictures edited and bloggable.
For the few of you who don’t know, Caren & Tim asked me to shoot their wedding in Jamiaca (and no, not in Queens. The actual island!) More on that in the upcoming posts from the wedding- and there will be quite a few of those!
Just starting with the rehearsal dinner today, where everyone got together to begin the celebrations and a lot of guests got to meet eachother for the first time. Since everyone was travelling from all over and the bride and groom have family and friends from, like, everywhere (Canada, Chicago, New York, etc) it was a nice way to start things off.
It was pouring the evening of the dinner (as it poured every day we were in Jamaica- except one. But only for a little while each day.) So we mainly just stuck to being inside the restaurant- but there was lots of fun and happiness in there anyway!
Coming up next… getting ready for the ceremony. Tune in soon for those.

nancy & jesse- part 4 {the reception}
Working til around 2:30am last night (or this morning, depending on how you look at it) when an uploading glitch forced me to go to bed since I couldn’t do any more work. But I finally finished this afternoon, so here’s the last of the wedding.
A big thanks to Sue who second shot the wedding with me. It was our first time working together and it went really well.
Not just because I like things in order, I love putting the reception up last in a wedding series of posts. Everyone has let their hair down so to speak, and is ready for some fun and silliness.
First, there was the big entrance with the first introduction as husband and wife…
And the first dance.
Then the speeches, eliciting a bunch of laughs and tears. For everyone. Followed by some bubbles in lieu of champagne. Still so bubbly!
Then, time to partay!
This little man was all about the dancing. And so was the bridesman. Alllll about the dancing.
The bouquet toss. Guess who caught it (she seriously came out of nowhere!)
Finally, a little cake (loved the polka dots!)
And a bit more dancing and smooching to close out the perfect day.
Thanks so much Nancy and Jesse for letting me capture your day. I hope you are always as happy as you were at your wedding!

nancy & jesse- part 3 {the portraits}
Thanks for being patient (yet again) while I worked on this batch.
It was a rainy day so all shots had to be done inside in a pretty small area near the windows (you know I love my natural light) but we pulled it off, and I think pretty well!
The wedding party looking pretty fierce!
Groom and his parents (love the tears in their eyes). Don’t worry, I got a few tear-free.
The bride and groom got sneak peek of their reception and I tagged along.
The bride’s father passed a while back, but he was there on the wedding day in more ways than one.
You guys are just fabulous! Candids are always my favorite but the posed ones rock pretty hard too.
Reception up next- in a day or two.

nancy & jesse- part 2 {the ceremony}
You’ll have to excuse the lack of narrative but it’s really late right now while I’m posting this and have to get to bed for a shoot in the morning.
The ceremony was beautiful and so personal (which is just the best! Just ask John- one of our officiants had a bunch of our info wrong at our wedding) as their officiant knows both of them so well.
The groom teared up quite a bit during the ceremony (can we get an awwwww?) and I love the way he looked at Nancy during the ceremony.
Yay! Married!!
Coming up next (may not be tomorrow, theres a lot to edit) will be the portraits. Stay tuned…

nancy & jesse- part 1 {getting ready & first look}
This poor bride and groom have been patiently waiting for their pictures since I shot their wedding in October. I’m happy to report I have finally started editing and can get some of them up on the blog. They will be in parts, so be on the lookout for the rest from their happy day!
The bride is John’s cousin (like 2nd or 3rd, sometimes removed) but family nonetheless and I was so thrilled when she contacted me to shoot her special day.
So without further ado (further than the 3 months they’ve already been waiting!) here are some shots of the getting ready part of the day.
The handsome groom, giving directions to wedding guests who’ve lost their way.
And his ubercool custom converse sneakers. Purple was their wedding color. (the sneakers were so cool that not too long after the wedding I visited the converse.com site and made my own pink & gray converse lowtops)
Best man and some adjustments.
The bride. Who is a blog stalker and knows exactly what I wanted.
Pretty, pretty dress.
And the bride with her very special women. Mama. Sister. Grandma.
The bride and groom chose to have a first look (which photographers just love. Makes it so easy to catch the intimacy of the moment.) And here is their first time seeing eachother right before the ceremony.
Something American Gothic about this one. Don’t know why, but there is to me anyway!
Off to the ceremony. This one has anticipation written all over it.
Stay tuned for more of the wedding soon….
