the butl rehearsal dinner
Ok, I know I usually don’t post client images on the weekends, but with last week’s record number of shoots, if I don’t post over the weekend I’ll be even more backlogged than I am!
This almost newlywed couple ( actually married for a week + now) came to me thru the bride’s sister (in the green dress) as I had done her family pictures a few times. I was asked to shoot the rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding. This dinner could’ve been a wedding itself! So many people helping to celebrate the couple with speeches, slide shows, laughs, toasts and tons of love.
The bride was sick (what a bummer, huh?) but you could never tell by looking at her. She was fiercly fabulous and a real trooper. I got about 5 minutes with the bride and groom outside before they had to return to their guests and the evening commenced. I loved the gold wall and couldn’t pass it up.
The bride’s family and friends were great and so happy for R. A big thanks to the bride’s sister R for all of her coordinating and help during the evening. Their speeches were sweet and funny.
Turns out that the bride is a bit of a photographer herself but is very, VERY picky about how she looks and often has the owner of the camera erase photos if she dosen’t like the way she looks in them. I was told during one of the speeches that I had the toughest job that day. Hope you like the pictures, R and don’t make me erase any!
The groom’s dad, brother, friends and family had quite a lot to say during the speeches.
There was a crazy story about poop and grandma’s car during the groom’s brother’s speech. Grandma laughed so hard she was crying.
Love the reaction shots, always my favorite!
Hope the wedding went as well as the dinner and everyone had just as much if not more fun! To see all of the images from the evening, please click HERE.

parlez vous jamaica, mon?!!
I was asked to shoot my very first destination wedding next May in Jamaica. Not Jamaica Queens, but the real Jamaica the Island!!!!
The couple getting married are the fabulous Caren and Tim who’s engagement shoot I recently posted on the blog. I couldn’t have been happier and more honored that they asked me, and I’m so glad we worked the whole thing out. I’ll be shooting their wedding at Beaches Negril on Friday, May 7th 2010 along with all the other weekend festivities (a sunset cruise, the wedding day prep, the whole wedding ceremony and reception, and a trash the dress session). And I can’t wait!!
I will be bringing the whole family along for the trip. And it looks like Timmy’s BFF Jack and his family will be joining us as well. It’s gonna be awesome!!!
10 bonus points to anyone who leaves a comment on this post, guessing where the title comes from. Hint: it’s from a movie and it’s really “parlez vous _______ (insert event here)”.

the mcde engagement
Sorry about the lack of posting yesterday. I’m on the mend from the lovely stomach virus the boys so generously shared. Wow, haven’t felt that bad in a long time. Still not all the way better, but almost.
If you are a blog follower, you might remember this great couple from a wedding a shot a year ago. (Miss C is the groom’s daughter). They have recently become engaged and are moving back to the mid-west in a few weeks and asked me if I would do an engagement/save the date shoot while there were still here in NY. Of course, I jumped at the chance! We scheduled a beach shoot and were hoping we wouldn’t freeze as the shoot was in April. Well, we more than lucked out with the weather as it was in the 80’s and sunny. Perfect.
T & C chose the beach for their shoot as they are getting married in Jamaica next May. She had visions of the date written in the sand for the save the date cards to be sent out. Mission accomplished.
We had a great time shooting all over the beach and they were so up for any of my crazy ideas. T & C are just so in love, and it totally shows.
Let me just mention that C totally knows how to work the camera. I was so impressed! Especially considering that their engagement party was the night before our shoot!
Dad (aka the groom from last year’s wedding) made a surprise appearance to give his girl a kiss. And what is a bride and groom without an entourage? These girls were great with the dog wrangling and outfit/hair fixing.
Fabulousness!!!!
Had a wonderful time with all of you and hope you enjoy all the pictures! To view all of the images from this session, please click HERE.

the dal wedding
Spent the day (the very hot, humid day I might add) shooting this great couple at their fantastic wedding. Their friends and families looked on as they tied the knot and celebrated their new marraige at the Atlantic Beach Club. Both the mass and the reception were lovely and love-filled. All the kids were just over the top cute and very, very cooperative. The beach shots were a favorite of mine and I’m so glad the bride and groom were so excited to do them as well! They looked fantastic (the bride’s makeup was perfect and her eyes were to die for) and I think they had a great day. Even thought it was so very hot and humid.
Before the mass at the bride’s parents house:
At the church:
At the office (the groom is an attorney and this is his office building. There was a special request for me to take some shots there and I was all too happy to oblige):
At the reception:
ALL f the pictures from the day are in an album on the left under the dal wedding. Just click on any image to see it bigger.
And big thank you to my friend Beth for being my second shooter and backup help. And friend who knows exactly what I’m thinking before I say it. We even got matching sand/shoe blisters that night!
Thanks for letting me share in your special day, E & T! You guys were great. And many congratulations!
