cooperstown- day 1
Just a few pictures from today’s events. Timmy and I spent the day driving up (not too bad at just over 4.5hrs but why, why, WHY does everyone drive 50 in the left lane?? Omg, move or move over!!!) while the boys spent the day pin trading with the other 103 teams that are here for the week. Just a few very quick shots from today’s opening ceremonies.
John said that this is his version of Disney. It’s total and complete baseball immersion.
So you have some idea of the scope, this isn’t even half of the teams. And a shot with my borrowed 2x lens extender with the 70-200 from across the field and top of the stands. With the Royals team banner of course. (they are the Royals to the immediate left of the orange banner)
Apparently no one slept really well in the barracks friday night (somehow, not surprising) but after a good dinner out last night, and all the excitement of the day I think they’ll all be so tired they’ll all pass right out.
The Royals will be playing two games today- one at 11am and one at 4:30pm. The 11am one will be streamed live on www.dreamsparktv.net if you’d like to watch along at home.
The best part of last night for me besides seeing the boys so happy and excited? Freihofer cookies!!!!! Totally forgot they would have those up here. Bonus!

cooperstown bound
The boys are off to Cooperstown with the whole Royals team for the Dreams Park tournament. The bsquared blog will be turning into baseball blog instead for a bit while I take tons of pictures at their games, the ceremonies, etc. Hang in there for a bit until we return to our regularly scheduled programming.
And please wish the boys (and Coaches including John who will be sleeping in the barracks for a week) lots of luck and wins and most importantly, fun!
Patrick looks like that cause he just woke up. He’s not really a morning person. It pains him to be awake. (sound familiar??) The cars are decorated and we’re ready for 2 games a day. Go Royals!!

royals district 31 champs!
The RVC Royals 12U team are the winners of the District 31 NJBL league as of yesterday’s game. In the rain. I still don’t like baseball, but it’s been really fun watching them all play and improve so much. So proud of the whole Royals team and how hard they’ve all worked this summer- coaches too!
Coach John H, Coach John B, Johnny C, Jack, Mike, Glenn, James, Johnny H, Anthony, Kevin, Patrick, Coach Kevin, Jack C, Zach, Coach Rob and Michael. Not pictured: Bobby and Jamie as they weren’t at the game. Someday I will get the whole Royals team in one picture at one time.
I swear I wasn’t even going to ask them to do this picture this time but someone said it, so they did it. Love the whole hat throwing series.
A little treat to pizza from the coaches and Mr. Allen. Of course Timmy was right in the mix.
Next stop is Cooperstown Dreams Park for the Royals. We’ll be up there for a week- 7 games in 4 days and then playoffs. I’m really excited for the boys- it’s going to be a great experience for them. I’ll be there with the camera for tons of pictures and will try to blog nightly. Cause really, what else will I have to do with my time up there?

happy 13th birthday Jack & Patrick!!
Took just a few super quick pictures this morning of the birthday boys before they left with their dad, grandpa, Timmy and friend for the Mets game. I can hardly even believe our twins are 13 today. So happy and proud to see the fantastic young men they are growing to be. Can’t wait to see what the next 13 years has to bring for them.
Had to add one of them from their 5 month old portrait session at Sears. Jack on the left, Patrick on the right.

rvc royals
As the prep for Cooperstown Dreams Park continues (you should see my color coded spread sheet. Seriously!! I decided to take the “swag” orders on and have been compiling all kinds of info on my pretty spreadsheet!) the boys are all improving so much and having so much fun playing. This game was against Seaford on that really stormy day last week and they were lucky to get the whole game in before the first rumble of thunder as they were leaving the dugout. Happy to report they won!!
Jack has been pitching a few games and is doing really well. Not the fastest pitcher but throws strikes and is pretty consistent. One kid on an opposing team we saw at the beach the day after a game where Jack pitched. He said to Jack “you were throwing lobs out there”. Jack’s reply? “Then why didn’t you hit any?”. Ha! Homerun!!Conferring w Jamie.Anthony.Jamie. Who actually smiled right at me. Thanks!!Jack.Timmy. Checking out his baseball cards in the dugout. And practicing his pitching.Jack C who hit a home run!!Glenn.MikeyD.James. Johnny. Zach. And Patrick. Who got a new bat for his upcoming birthday from his dad. And is really hitting the crap out of the ball. So I guess it was a good investment.
Lots more baseball to come before Cooperstown at the end of August. As you can see from the first picture, they’re just barely tolerant of me and my camera so I have to pick and choose my games to photograph. Don’t want to wear out my welcome!!
