    the great bathroom remodel

I wasn’t going to post today, but my 2nd out of 3 shoots for today cancelled (rescheduled actually) due the yet again crappy weather. So I’m home for a little bit and figured I’d post something for everyone else home and bored on another yucky day. Not that my blog is that exciting, but it’s something to read for 5 minutes.

When we did our house extension back in 2001 or so, we never did the main upstairs bathroom. It didn’t really need it and we were running out of money fast! But recently it started leaking into the kitchen so we knew we couldn’t put it off any longer. So we got started on the ‘great bathroom remodel’. So glad we did!!

    Before:

during:Gary, our awesome GC!!I’m a little obsessed with our glass accent tile. And after: It still needs a little something on the wall for decoration, but I have yet to decide what that something is.

If you are in the market for any kind of home renovation, I highly recommend our GC, Gary Casaceli. He was fast, CLEAN!!, nice, careful and very reasonable. You can contact him at 516.672.3985.

We used George from Reliable Painting who was also reasonable and did a good job 516.867.4767. He also did the kitchen ceiling which was all patched with new sheetrock. The color is Timberwolf from Benjamin Moore.

C&L Plumbing Supply in Lynbrook was where we got all the stuff where Lisa was great and helpful 516.599.6655, and Turnabout Plumbing did all of the plumbing 516.887.4411.

New York Shower Door for the glass doors 516.379.3535

Tile from Cancos in Lynbrook 516.593.5117.

And the lights over the medicine cabinets (btw, love those medicine cabinets- they are huge and mirrory!!) are from Restoration Hardware.

Hope you give the above guys some business. They were all really great, especially Gary!

    more baseball

I have a feeling there will be more of the above titled posts throughout this year. Finally took the camera to the big boys game last weekend (my last weekend game I’ll be seeing for a while due to shoots/communions). Their team won and I got some great pictures too!

Jack got a great hit and was pretty happy about it!And then Jack pitched an inning. Patrick’s game…2 innings as catcher.Cousin Brendan getting a little coaching from Coach Thomas/Dad.Uncle That Guy doing his coaching thing.Timmy’s always around to cheer a brother up after a tough inning. Assistant Coach JohnnyB looking on.  This weekend’s game didn’t go as well, but I did get in to see about 30 minutes between shoots. No doubt there will be lots more pictures of baseball before the season’s over…

    4eyes

That’s me these days. It was a really good thing that I went and got new glasses (needed a new prescription and new frames) earlier this spring. Because my eyes are so swollen and itchy that there is no way any contacts are fitting in there! I even shot 5 sessions last weekend while wearing them and it was great. Now if I could just wear them sometimes instead of all the time, I would be thrilled. Allergy season is killing me.

And yes, they are Chanel. And pink and black. What else would they be?

    t-ball for timmy

Timmy couldn’t have been more excited to start his season of baseball this year. I think John and the boys have him way sucked in to their baseball way of life.

Coach John getting the team ready to play. First time up at bat for the season! He got a great hit! Could he look any happier?!Jack and Patrick have been helping out at 1st and 3rd.  And doing a great job, I might add!Second up at bat. Still way smiley.Lots of Timmy’s friends are on the team, which worked out well for all of us!And the boys friend Johnny’s sister is on the team too, so the boys can play a little catch between ups. The BFF’s back together.

    happy mothers day

Hoping all of you had a wonderful mothers day. I did. I got to sleep late, went to Hempstead for brunch with everyone (John and the boys, both sets of grandparents, and Joe & Gail and their boys) and had a lazy afternoon at home. Just wish I felt better- my allergies are awful. None of the delicious food tasted quite right at brunch cause of the allergy meds, my eyes are swollen itchy and ugly, and I kept falling asleep all afternoon/evening. Can’t wait for spring to be OVER.

My presents: (looooove my new Coach bag. John’s batting 1000 on the pocketbooks!!) The Mets shirt, however…..

And my gifts: Wishing all my bsquared mommies a very happy mothers day yesterday, too.
