a date with Timmy
Back in May, Timmy and I had a date day/night to celebrate his graduation from Preschool. We went into the city, saw the Lion King (which he LOVED) and then went to ‘the giant toy store’ (Toys R Us in Times Square, and Bubba Gump’s for dinner. It was a great date with my great boy.
Sorry about the picture quality (only brought the point n shoot).

adventures in Connecticut
As my blog stalkers know, we went to Connecticut this week to get 8 teeth from Jack and Patrick pulled. In Connecticut. Completely worth the 1.5 hour drive. The oral surgeon was awesome, so great with the boys, and a real pro at his job. He put them under with a little nitrous oxide (they were out for no more than 3 minutes each) and pulled out 4 teeth from each of them. No novicaine, no problems.
Here they are looking drugged, with their little bags of gauze pads each.
And a little over one hour later with several gauze changes…
Seeing Eoin and Aunt Robin perked them right up and they were their own happy selves again, just less a few teeth! As an added bonus, I got to take some MORE pictures of Eoin (twice in a week, it’s a record for us for sure!) and visit with Robin. He’s just yum!!We bought Eoin a wagon for his birthday (a little belatedly) and Timmy really ‘helped’ us put it together while the big boys watched/played with Eoin and then played Call of Duty on Aunt Robin and Uncle Joe’s playstation. They were in heaven. Told you he was yum! Oh, I have to get back there again to do some more cheek squeeeeeeeeeeezing. Eoin went in for a nap, and after 2+ hours Robin and I (and Timmy) finished the wagon, after a little sushi break of course. It’s like the Mercedes of wagons…And Jack snapped one of us too. Thanks, dude! (ok, I know my hair is a little frizzy but it was like 1000% humidity and we were sweating from wagon assembly). Love you Rob!! And those were our adventures in Connecticut.

like pulling teeth & a miracle update
We’re heading on up to Connecticut today to pay a visit to an oral surgeon (who happens to be the father in law of a favorite bsquared client) who will be yanking 8 baby teeth out of 2 boys this morning. Wish us luck on that- hopefully it will all go well and smoothly with minimal drama. Why go all the way to Connecticut you ask…well, when I saw the oral surgeon here in NY he let me know that it would be $2160.00 to have those same 8 teeth removed that apparently ‘pop right out’. Well, dude– if they ‘pop right out’ then why are you charging $2000??? So to Connecticut we go…
Then after that fun, we are heading over to see this little guy and Aunt Robin for some sympathy and lunch and playtime (hopefully the boys will be up for some playtime with Eoin as this is the first time they will be meeting him!!). For those of you who blog stalk, you may remember Eoin’s story (found here if you’d like to read his miraculous story of being born at 2 lbs at 24 weeks). Can you even believe the little man is now 14 months old (so 11 months adjusted age) and is doing totally and absolutely phenomenal!! He’s perfect. And so, so smiley! And quite the porker too. And the best part? No real delays, no medications, just all perfect. You know you want to just sqeeeeeeeeze him thru the computer.
I quickly snapped these last week when I visited Robin on the way home from shooting my first gay wedding in CT. Hope to take some better ones (with good light this time) up there today. The boys are so excited to meet Eoin- they’ve waited a year + to get to do it (walking petri dishes and all that- we had to be really careful about not exposing Eoin to anything germy. Like boys). Be on the lookout for some new Eoin pictures again soon.

boston trip
A friend and client of mine booked an extended family photoshoot up at her summer house in Rhode Island, which was great all on it’s own. But John decided that we should make a weekend out of it and go to Boston for a few days before the shoot. Good decision, JohnnyB. Well, except for maybe the baseball part of it.
So, going in order:
1. John pointed out my two least favorite things together in one place. Baseball and newspapers.
2. Love the old and new right next to eachother.
3. carousel rides by boston harbor
4. taking a break along a pier.
5. patrick on the duck boat
6. sunset over the green monstah
7. mommy and timmy at the redsox game
8. on the duck tour
9. pier on rhode island
10. the ‘real’ twins
11. jack
12. boys at redsox (we sat on the bud porch which was pretty great, but it was still baseball)
13. us at fenway
14. patrick and his mad dance moves
15. timmy was a total crack up wild man at the game yelling “YEAH” at the top of his lungs and dancing. Kept all of us entertained. Love this one!
We started calling him FlatHatPat after this. I loathe the flat hat. Our duck boat commander- Capt. DuckTape All the boys had a chance to drive the boat on the Charles river. It was too squishy for me to get up there with the camera, so this was the best I got. Timmy getting high-5’s and pats on the back from fellow duck boat passengers after driving. Love this one too. All my favorite boys enjoying their favorite pasttime. Came out so good considering it was with the little point n shoot. Didn’t feel like hauling the big guns to the park. Besides, I had to carry the kindle so I could read during the game! -
7 for Sunday
It’s been a good long while since I’ve done one of these- tons of client shoots to post and that always takes priority. So here I am back again with a (hopefully entertaining) 7 for Sunday.
1. Both my boys and I didn’t have breakfast yesterday morning until 11am. Whatever, it’s summer.
2. Been reading a ton recently, you know in my free time. Here’s a list of my newest reads:
-The Host
-A Dark Matter
-Horns
-Worst Case
-Sh*t my dad says (this one had me laughing out LOUD on the beach! Freakin hysterical!!)
-The 9th Judgement
-Little Bee
-The Last Child (reading now)
3. Timmy is known to say ‘go homey’ while getting his groove on. Gotta have the sideways hat to complete the look.
I bet you just cracked up!
4. I have two shoots today- one in Rye, one in East Hampton. Will be well aquainted with the car after today, huh? Syncing and charging the ipod now.
5. I know I still have a number of clients waiting for their shoots- up this week will be the ‘barro’ family, the ‘abat’ family, hewitt graduation, and I’m hoping to get Miss J’s bat mitzvah up too. I have dropped down to 10 shoot to be edited, from the 23 I was behind before. So, I’m making progress. Just wish I was making more.
6. Been a busy movie viewing summer- already saw The Karate Kid, Toy Story 3, Eclipse, and Despicable Me. Loved them all. And yes, I do realize they are all kid movies. No one ever said I was a grown up.
7. I purposely scheduled no shoots yesterday as it was the date for our town’s big fireworks celebration. However, due to a rainy forecast (where no rain actually developed) they moved them to tonight and I won’t be able to make it. So bummed I’ll miss it. This is the first time in about 8 years I will be missing it but John and my parents will go with the boys. Sometimes working on the weekends isn’t my favorite.
Hope everyone enjoys the last of their weekend today.
