yes, again.
I’m back in Florida. Today. I know, I know.
In Hallandale/ Miami for the weekend with Robin for a girls weekend! Looking forward to a few days of doing nothing really at all; laying in the sun at the pool and beach, reading a ton, going out for all you can eat sushi at Taisho (especially seafood handrolls!), going down to South Beach for drinks, heading to University of Miami for an all-reminiscing tour from our college days, singing loud in the car, and a whole lot of fun and relaxing.
It’s okay, I know everyone hates me. But I did work ridiculously hard in 2009 and need a break (and a break just for me) before things get totally crazy again in April until the end of the year! (and I don’t mean the end of the school year, I mean the end of 2010!)
A big giant thank you to John for taking care of our boys all weekend so I can have some girly alone time and not worry (too much anyway, I’m still the mommy and I still worry) about the boys. Thanks JohnnyB- I love you and will miss you! To my parents for letting us stay in their beautiful apartment and lending us the car so we don’t have to rent one (and yes, I will clean it all up before we leave). And for pitching in with babysitting while I’m away. And to my friends who volunteered to help out too. Love you all!
Taking the weekend off from blogging. And only have the point n shoot with me (see, really on vacation!) but will post some pictures from our adventure when I’m back on Monday.
Hope everyone has a great weekend! And because a post just isn’t a post without a picture, here’s two cool shots from Disney taken with the lensbaby. Delish!!

7 for Sunday
It’s been quite a while since I did one of these, so here’s a new one.
1. It’s really unfortunate that Tom Cruise went off the deep end. He’s so nice to look at, but now I can’t look at him without thinking ‘oh, he’s craaaaaaaaazy’. (this thought occured while flipping channels and finding Mission Impossible 3 on).
2. The application forms for passports are quite tedious to fill out, especially when having to do 4 of them. Gotta get all those ducks in a row for the wedding in Jamaica in May. Really looking forward to that trip!!
3. I love going on Facebook and seeing so many of my friends/clients with a profile picture that I took. Just makes me happy.
4. Our Disney trip was so, so fun! A whole week with the Mouse (and as an added bonus, friends of ours from town were at Disney the exact same dates, on the same flight down, and at the same hotel as us- and we didn’t even plan it!) and it was still not enough. Hit all the parks (except Animal Kingdom- not our favorite) and had a blast. All the boys did the Pirates League where you dress up as a pirate with makeup and everything, and we had both sets of grandparents join us for little bits of the trip. Timmy was finally tall enough to ride lots of the ‘good’ rides and he loved them! And although we didn’t win the Cinderella Castle Suite again (actually, they’re not giving that away anymore either) it was definitely one of the best Disney trips we’ve had. And it was our first trip with the Disney Vacation Club- so great!! Lots and lots of pictures and video to come soon. I brought along my new flip video camera and am slowly figuring out how to edit video. You know, in my free time.
Here are a few randoms from Disney (just the first few I’ve edited). Love this picture of Timmy. Looks like he’s giving me the finger, right? Actually, he’s just using his jedi mind powers to choke me. Much better. Some great ones of Patrick too, and some favorites of my boys.
5. I’ve really been enjoying the Olympics, but am still totally at a loss regarding Curling. And I tend to watch it for long periods of time just cause I think all of a sudden I’ll just GET it. But that has yet to happen. Is it shuffleboard on ice? Is it like darts? Do they wear special shoes? And really, WHY is it an Olympic sport? It’s kinda oddly mesmorizing. Any help on this is more than welcome. But, on the same token I have to say that I really love short track speed skating- omg, so edge of your seat exciting!
6. Getting so excited to head back to Florida on Thursday-Sunday with my college roommate, Robin. Just us girls, just for the weekend for sun, a University of Miami visit, relaxation, massages, sushi/seafood handrolls at Taisho, and some South Beach fun. Can’t wait!! (and yes, I do realize I just got back from Florida. Twice. But I’m not going anywhere else after this trip until Jamaica in May. I know, waaaa.)
7. I really, really have to get myself the iphone. I was waiting to pick one up when they switched over to Verizon but that really dosen’t look like it’s happening anytime soon. So when my contract is up this summer, I’m going iphone I think. I’ll ask for everyone’s favorite apps so keep a list ready for me, ok?
Hope you all had a great weekend. Off to NJ this morning for a newborn shoot and then a mini this afternoon that’s local. Then really looking forward to dinner tonight with some of my girls and movies for Shutter Island.

the grass is always greener…
…when it’s planted in a styrofoam cup by a 5 year old?
The best part was when Jack told Timmy that he did such a good job with the grass and that he must have a green thumb, I totally saw Timmy looking at his thumbs in confusion. Awesome!
We’re on our way back from Disney today (if the plane makes it without a firey crash of course) so be on the lookout for some Disney posts coming soon, and some client sessions too.

poppers
On the way back home from a shoot (a totally fabulous shoot btw) in Brooklyn Heights I decided to run into Chinatown since I was right there and pick up dinner from our favorite restaurant- Peking Duck House. I totally forgot it was Chinese New Year and Chinatown was a total zoo. But I somehow got parking and ran in and out of the restaurant, only stopping long enough to pick up 3 ‘poppers’ for the boys.
Upon seeing them, they decided they didn’t want to wait for morning to try them out (which ended up being a good thing cause I couldn’t twist the freakin things open no matter how hard I tried. John had to do all 3.)They had so much fun popping them open all over the kitchen.
I’m still finding little bits of paper all over– in the refrigerator, on the stove, in cups. And I have no doubt they’ll be cropping up in the oddest places over the next few months still.

16. version 3.
The last installment of the Florida Dec/Jan trip’s snapshots. Again, was lazy with the numbering but you can figure it out.
1. Timmy & John at Dolphin’s game.
2. Miami (blurry but gorgeous) sunset.
3. Jack self portrait.
4. the view from the apartment’s balcony. ahhhh.
5. the view from the front of the apartment. Love me some A1A/Ocean Ave.
6. Jack @ the driving range.
7. lens envy
8. John trying out golfing again. Not going too well with his back.
9. Orange Bowl Iowa vs. GT
10. A tired mommy and Timmy at the Dolphins.
11. Green and sunny.
12. the ‘christmas room’ at the Bubble Room on Captiva Island. Bubble bread. Yummmmmmmmy.
13. florida.
14. Roman who is the ‘soup nazi’ of the cafe at the apartment. Good thing he likes me though.
15. the view toward the pool from the apartment. at sunset.
16. the surrey with the fringe on top that we rented on Sanibel. That was so fun!
And so the florida adventures draw to a close. Sniff sniff. Well, until I go again with Robin the first weekend of March.
