don’t fight the love
Is what Timmy told me the other night while cuddling in his bed. He’s so awesome, I can’t take it!
Another one is “we’re connected” and he puts one hand on my forehead and his other hand on his forehead.
How can you NOT love this kid?
It breaks my heart more than a little that he’ll be turning 5 in about a week and heading off to Kindergarten in September. NOT READY. He is, but I’m not.

in between & up and down
In between editing a few shoots that will be up on the blog soon. In the meantime, a picture of the big boys down in Miami. Still wishing for warm weather.
And a few current thoughts (nothing really goes with Wednesday like 10 for Tuesday or 6 for Saturday, so it’s the same idea, but no catchy title.)
1. Went to the Islanders game last night and although it was somewhat of a blowout (7-2 Capitals) it was still fun. I really, really love hockey. Especially yelling “hit him!” at the top of my lungs, hoping for a good fight.
2. Waiting very impatiently for any previews or trailers for Eclipse. I know it’s not til summer, but I’m excited to see it! And I’m figuring I’m going to have to read the whole series again before the movie comes out, making it 3x through. The Twilight obsession continues….
3. Denial ain’t just a river. This applies to many situations and I love this quote.
4. We are on the road to braces for Jack. Should be really soon.
5. Only 20 more days until Disney!
6. Loving my new imac. A lot.
7. Going to make a new blog header with some updated pictures before my 1 year anniversary here on this blog on 2/5. Gotta get to moving on that! Good ideas in my head need to be translated to real life.
8. Currently reading Under the Dome by Stephen King. All 1027 pages of it. And really enjoying it so far. It’s taking quite a while though (reading on the Kindle which is much easier to carry around that that huge chunker of a book).
9. I’m at 9700+ views on my blog. Would love to hit 10,000 by my 2/5 anniversary here. I like round numbers on anniversaries. Weird, I know. But tell your friends to visit too so I can make it.
Ok, that’s all I can think of for now. Hope everyone has a great day. Hoping to post a newborn shoot tomorrow, so come back and visit then too.

i got nothin.
for today. Sorry. Been working on between 4-6 hours of sleep a night and it has totally caught up with me and kicked my ass. Hard. Working on editing about 5 different shoots so should have lots to show you soon. But for now, it’s only this one picture (of a sunny warm day, on a rainy cold day).
Do need to mention that the tree in the pictures reminds me of a LOST tree. Just missing the smoke monster. Cannot wait for that show to start again, so soon!
Had a shoot in NYC yesterday that totally rocked. That one coming soon too.
Happy freakin Monday. Blech.

you are here.
For whatever reason, signs that say ‘you are here’ make me happy. If we’re going deep, maybe it’s a reminder that we are all here for a reason. That we should live in the present. Or (not deep, just practical) just so I know I’m not entirely lost.
And a sign like that made me extra happy- being at my alma mater — University of Miami on our trip to Florida. We were originally on our way down to Miami Metro Zoo, but it was late and chilly so we ended up just stopping at campus and walking around. And shopping, of course.
So, this is the campus. No, really. It is. It looks like a country club or an island resort, but it’s campus. And maybe that’s why I got a 1.74 GPA and Mono my first semester. (totally true.)
I did have a really nice tan, though. Spent a lot of time at the pool laying out when I should have been in class. Or if not at the pool, on the ledge of the dorm. Yeah, the ledge 8 stories above the ground with no railings where we had no business being? Yeah, there.
The lobby of my dorm for the 1st two years at Miami (then moved off campus). And the view on the walk to class. When I actually went to class, that is.
I mean seriously people- can you blame me? Who can go to class when it looks like this outside in the middle of the winter.
And those damn chickenduck things who were so ugly (and still are) and pooped all over the walkways all the time. Ugh.
Really, really looking forward to going back down with Robin (my suitemate and bff from Miami) in March and visiting the rest of campus and some other old Miami places!! No doubt there will be pictures.

bzzzzz…..
Hear that? It’s the sound of the school spelling bee.
While Patrick didn’t make it in to the final 9 (3 kids from each of the 5th grade classes. And there will be a whole post on Patrick and his woes of late coming soon), Jack did and finished the bee in 4th place. He was seriously dissapointed in what he felt was his lackluster performance, but I was pretty proud anyway. His killer word was monopolize and he missed a few letters but told me after that he didn’t like everyone staring at him and it made him nervous and unfocused.
The boy who won is in the black shirt and shorts. He’s going to the Nassau Co semi finals. Very exciting!! Go S!
I think all the bee-ers did an outstanding job. And Jack can now spell adjudicate, cajolery, omniscient, and aggrandize with the best of them (and I can too, after studying with him!).
