more halloween scenes
I posted a little preview of Halloween’s festivities on Saturday morning with pictures of just the boys in costume from their school parade. But here are LOTS more Halloween pix for your viewing pleasure…
Woody (he actually wanted to be Buzz. Again. But we went with Woody this year. He was still happy but wanted to know where the pull string was on the back!)
The MLB Umpire. My friend Ronni owns an embroidery company and I asked her to add MLB and #18 to the shirt. Picked up the chest protector and facemask at PlayItAgain Sports (for a whopping $22 for both- love that place), and the dress pants at Syms for $12.50. Cleats belong to the ump.
Patrick lugged that (easily 20lbs) Hebrew National HotDog carrier around for a long time (the whole parade route and most of trick or treating). A neighbor of my parents owns a CitiField concession and was so nice in letting Patrick borrow the hotdog carrier for the weekend. He also got him the shirt (to which Ronni added vendor on the back) and the pin to keep. Awesome. He got lots of compliments on the costume, even though he kept telling me he needs a chiropractor.
Here are the rest from trick or treating with friends and family, more from the parade, halloween playdates, and the scary house.
Aunt Nez and the cousins who we trick-or-treated with. Oh, and Michael Jackson made an appearance as well.
Really, the cutest penguins ever.
Some of Jack & Patrick’s teachers & principal.
Lots of Timmy’s friends.
Jack & Patrick’s BFF’s house (well, it was his house once…now they live in Michigan, but the house is still theirs according to us). Plus some of our pumpkins and decorations.
Some from the scary house. Thankfully, no murderous scary clowns like in years past. Just giant vampires. And the creepy undead. With knives and teeth.
Hope everyone had a happy, safe and candy filled Halloween.

7 for Sunday
It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these, and it’s been quite a week.
1. Because of all the ridiculous rain and having to reschedule tons of shoots, I’ve worked every day this week (except Saturday because…well…it rained! Again!!) I have a full- full day of shooting today, ending up in Prospect Park in Brooklyn. Should be fun, but exhausting!
2. We’ve been at the orthodontist three times this week (twice during school) as Jack has ripped his palate expander out of his mouth with his tongue for the 3rd time. Thankfully, we were finished expanding and were just waiting to put in a palate bar to hold the expansion. But…because of his lovely habit, they had to remove the expander and give him an invisiline type retainer (that cost $150) that he will wear for 4 days (and only 4 days…for $150. Excellent.) until the palate bar arrives on Thursday. But we go back on Tuesday for spacers so he can’t wear the retainer thing after getting those in. If he rips the bar out, I’m ripping his tongue out.
3. We’re waiting for the rest of the Halloween Costumes to come in. They had better be here soon! Patrick is going to be a CitiField vendor, Jack and MLB Umpire, and Timmy Woody from ToyStory.
4. The big boys had a field trip to the Mineola courts this week and they both loved it. They both told the court officer (who thought the same kid came on both days-didn’t realize they were twins) that law runs in their family. Which it does and a lot of it has rubbed off on them apparently. They are so smart. Scary smart.
5. The client orders and Christmas Cards are pouring in and going out so fast. Beth W came over and helped me pack the 18 orders I had this week. Here’s what my dining room looks like these days.
6. We booked our first Disney Vacation Club trip for February and I can’t wait. Gotta call this week for dining, you know, in my free time.
7. A quick sneak peek from Nancy & Jesse’s wedding I shot last weekend. Unfortunately, being in the middle of my busiest time of the year, it’ll be a bit until I can get to editing their pictures. So I thought a little sneak peek would be a nice treat to hold them over.

out east adventures
While the first half of Columbus Day weekend consisted of a shoot and a wedding (not shooting, just as a guest), the second half was the traditional Beyrer family trip to the ‘east house’. Which has been called the ‘weist house’ and now is referred to as the ‘easter house’. Either way, it’s always fun!
The wedding was FAR up in Poukeepsie and was for John’s cousin Chris and his new bride Laura. It was a lot of fun, especially the car ride with Inez & Uncle That Guy and Joe & Gail. The cousins parade was quite the spectacle- especially Billy as Rowdy Roddy Piper in a kilt with nothing underneath and then the mooning of the bride and groom followed by the cartwheel in the middle of the dance floor. Oy. At least I got to wear my crown. There are no pictures- I couldn’t find the little camera to bring (it’s still missing) and I wasn’t bringing the big guns.
Anyway, did the whole out east adventure. First stop was the Coronet for lunch, and most importantly chocolate milkshakes.
Oh, the anticipation…
And the real (thick) thing.
Love it there- so 1950’s.
Then to the ‘duck store’, and over to the carousel for a ride and jumping. I did try to get a shot of them jumping over me but the focal lenght of the lens was too long and it didn’t work out as planned.
I took some really cute pix of the three of them in Greenport, at the east beach, in the park and by ‘my’ truck, but if the photoshoot I have in my head for our Christmas card dosen’t work out I’ll use these shots for the card. So I can’t post them yet, but I will if the other shoot works out.
Went to the park for some fun and pictures. Can’t show you those yet, just in case I need them, but here’s a nice sunset.
Then it was Elbow Room for dinner (with marinated steak…yum!)
When we finally made it to the ‘easter house’ and settled in, Timmy opened the fridge and found milk that had been in there since June. Uh….yuck? It smelled like nothing I’ve ever smelled before and was then deemed ‘the stinking milk’ by Timmy. It went outside in the middle of the back lawn til we could make it to the garbage the next day.
And later that night after the stinking milk fun, I took all the boys outside, we layed down on the front lawn and just stared up at the millions of stars. It was incredible!! And we all loved it. (the picture is way blurry because I didn’t have a trip0d out there to use, but you get the general idea of the amount of stars).
Next day, Uncle Nelson met us out and we went pumpkin picking, hay riding, corn mazing (where every once in a while, Timmy would yell out “hey, corn!” like he was continually surprised to see it in the corn maze), pie purchasing (at Briermere), Elbow rooming (for lunch), and back home again.
And that was my last weekend off until December.

goin old skool
The first of two, yes two, blog posts for today. I couldn’t get it together to post the big one yet (some amazing Turn pictures), so here’s a little teaser post first.
Saw these shirts in Old Navy and just could not resist. I remember first hearing some Run DMC in the summer of 1984 from girls in my bunk at Camp Sequoia. I came home rapping that summer. Sad, but true.
That, and the fact that my husband (in his Brooks Brothers suits, Mercedes, with trial bag in the car on the way to the Courthouse) thinks he’sfrom the ‘hood. His CD collection in his car consists mostly of NWA, Eminem, Notorious B.I.G., Dr. Dre, WuTang Clan, Beastie Boys, etc. He puts the Fat Boys on YouTube all the time for Timmy. You’d never suspect, right?! So he had to have a shirt too.
Now if I could just find some Addidas clamshells in Timmy’s size.
Stay tuned for another post today, with more musical references.
