5 for friday
Cannot believe it’s Friday already. Where did this week go?
1. Here are a few little shots of my new PINK bike. So cute, right?? Been riding around as much as I can with all the boys. Still not sure if I’m putting on the baby seat in the back for Timmy. He’s really so big and doing such a great job on his bike, but for long rides, he just can’t do it. I would like to add a basket in the front though. (And really, the basket should be white plastic wicker with plastic colorful daisies on it. If you were a girl in the 70’s you know exactly what basket I’m talking about!) And maybe some streamers…. (ok, kidding about the streamers. But I do want a normal basket for real.)
2. Dropped off three children to school, took the train to Manhattan, shopped at B&H Photo, took a train home, bought another lens online, picked up Timmy and went to a playdate all before 1:30pm today. Now c’mon…that’s impressive!
3. Had a great time at B&H (thanks for the company Nelson). Bought two new lenses today. The 135mm 2.0L and the 50mm 1.2L and I cannot wait to play with them both. I also picked up some little things like an additional battery pack, a UV filter, a flash card wallet and some new 2.0gig flash cards. That store is beyond dangerous!
I think I will be selling my 50mm 1.4 shortly, so if you are interested let me know. It’s the BEST lens and I will be so sad to see it go but I highly recommend it. It’s fabulous. I’m just upgrading to the pro version of it. So once the lenses arrive, I will be all L series. Yippee!!
4. Today is visitors day at Jack & Patrick’s school. Should be a lot of fun! And then tonight we are celebrating Grandma & Grandpa’s one year (+22 years) wedding anniversary at a restaurant in Queens. Pictures soon.
5. Trying to keep up with the editing from last weekend, have 5 shoots scheduled for the weekend, one Monday, one Thurs night, one Friday night and possibly another one during the week. And I haven’t seen my bed before 2am in about a week. I don’t see that changing in the immediate future.
6. (ok, I know there are only supposed to be 5 but whatever. It’s my blog, I can break the rules). My good friend Beth picked me up a great and unexpected (and unneccessary but very appreciated) Mothers Day gift. This awesome red metal bucket. She mentioned that she dosen’t know anyone else who would be so excited to get this as a gift. But it’s awesome!!

friends.
A few taken the other day, just messing around on the front porch. Trying to put some of my newfound knowledge from my session with Michael Norwood into action. Think it’s working out pretty well!!
Lots of hugs to these two and especially to their mommy. They’ve had one sickness after another the past few weeks (nothing major, just all annoying like pink eye, ear infections, stomach viruses, etc.). Sending you a virtual drink Sharon! Maybe the pix will cheer you a little.
Heading into Manhattan to B&H photo this morning for a little shopping expedition. Looking to buy some new glass. Will let you know what I get. Woohoo!!!

mothers day festivities
After working and running around like a crazy person on Saturday (shooting 3 communions…coming soon) I had a great, relaxing, nice day yesterday for Mothers Day.
Actually, it all started on Friday in Patrick’s class. His teacher puts on a Mothers Day Tea every year and it just gets better and better. (Patrick had her for Kindergarten too). Each child made their mother some notecards as a gift, and presented the moms with an autobiography and a little speech. Not a dry eye in the house. Not one.
Sunday, John let me sleep in for a bit and then we ALL headed over to Hempstead for brunch. Delicious as always. And the required family pictures as well…
Then home for presents, cards, and flowers. I got my pink bike!!! The boys and I went for a ride around the neighborhood (Timmy is now riding Patrick’s old bike with training wheels and doing a GREAT job). Then just Jack and I went for a looooooong ride over to and around Hempstead Lake State Park. Pizza and sushi for dinner. It was a great day.
So very thankful for the reasons I am a mommy.
Jack (who gives me a little massage every time he walks by my chair)
Patrick (who is always picking pretty flowers for me)
Timmy (who says ‘just you & me mommy’ with big smiles and hugs
Hope all the mommies out there had a great mothers day too!
