bianca’s communion party
If you are a bsquared blog stalker (which, of course, I hope you are!) you will remember this pretty communicant from her portrait session I did a few weeks ago. Her party was at Bridgeview Yacht Club and was so much fun! Her theme was B-sweet. Lots of fun and games and it looked to me as if everyone had a great time!

robby’s christening
Getting closer to being caught up, but not quite there yet. Robby (who’s newborn session I did a few months ago) was christened a few weeks back at St Raymond and then celebrated with a big party back at his parents house. It was a lovely, but really hot, day and for the short time I was there it looked like everyone was having a great day, even Robby!
I love his chubby cheeks.
Not thrilled w the anointing process, and poor big sister Natalie looks worried. He was fine within seconds and went right back to sleep. The big moment. Which he slept thru. Now that’s one happy, blessed baby!
Yes, this is their backyard. The whole thing. Looks like an amusement park, right? So much of it (or possibly all of it) was destroyed during Sandy with the water in the river coming up so high it flooded their house too. But it’s gorgeous and perfect again after a ton of hard work. Dad HATES getting his picture taken. This was perhaps the only time in my history of knowing this family that I didn’t have to remind him to smile. Knowing nothing about workshops myself even I could tell this one is beyond amazing. I love his neatness and organization. There’s a fire pit under that table. Cousins.Besties. One of the owners of my dog I no longer own. Adorbs.I’m sure you remember this handsome boy from his christening and party. The next two pictures weren’t set up, but are so perfect. Besties and besties- the mothers to the daughters.

timmy’s communion- the party (aka the communitzvah)
We ended up with a fabulous day (thank god) with tons of family and friends with amazing food, gorgeous decor and a happy communitzvah boy. The party theme was vintage baseball. What else would it be?
The lighting was kinda horrible to work with, but since they’re my own pictures and not a clients (and I was not busting out the lighting) it went into the category of it is what it is. The amazing “focal table”, all designed and implemented by the fantastic Jenn Evans from Jennifer Evans Events. The food was beyond delicious (especially the appetizers- always my favorite!) and the service was outstanding, all provided by the amazing Fran Klier. Not only a fantastic chef, but a good friend and Royals family member. Centerpieces. My favorite!Vintage straws and coke bottles. The drink table welcoming guests as they arrived. The focal candy table in parts… Including Mommy’s Marshmallows. Jenn wanted to do a special signature cocktail for the party. This is what we agreed on. Baseball card graham cracker cookies and baseball cake pops. Amazing cake (with three different layers- all different flavors) by The Cake Don.
“Forked” baseball iced oreos (stuck on a little tiny fork). Some games for the kids.Baseball wreath from baby toes on Etsy. And potted flowers from my friend Heidi. Which I’m happy to report I haven’t yet killed. Give it a few more weeks though.Under the baseball big top. Me and my girlies. Jen & Sharon. Timmy and his besties. Liam & Jack.My photografriend Shira who left her family party to come over for a few minutes to take some pictures so I could be in some. Tricia and two of her three girls. John and his crew. Ray, George, Nelson & Jim. Me and Maureen all the way from Michigan. Jack & Timmy.Do not even ask me, cause I don’t know. Karen, all three of my boys baby nurse. She used to be able to hold them both at once. And lived in my house for a total of 4 weeks. I still love her so.
Any guesses who?Timmy and his godmother. As you can see I didn’t go crazy with the camera/picture taking during the course of the day. Was trying to be in the moment and enjoying the day as much as I could. It was a nice change of pace for me! -
sammy’s (carnival) communion
I’ve been photographing this fantastic family for a few years now and was so happy to be asked back to photograph their youngest son’s communion. Another not so nice weather day, but we were lucky there was no rain. I met them at their home for some family portraits and then over to the super fun carnival themed party to capture more of Sammy’s day.
He is pretty squeezable. Attack the photographer!

rosa lee young gala
A lovely evening honoring some special members of our community. Going super slim on narrative today- so behind in editing! The pictures are pretty self explanatory.
