the sewa communion
Although we were battling the winds and the dreaded overhead 1pm sun, I had a great time meeting this new to bsquared photography family and capturing their oldest daughters first communion. Actually, her communion is the weekend I’ll be away shooting the destination wedding in Jamaica so doing it now worked out great for all of us!
Isn’t she lovely?
The girls were so cute and giggly together, even sharing a coat in between pictures. They seemed to really get along great which is always a pleasure to see.
Such a cute family! Mom wanted greenery so I got as much of it as I could.
A pleasure meeting all of you. Hope you like the pictures and I hope your ‘real’ communion day is wonderful!!

the coll communion
And so it begins…Communion Season!
I was so happy to get a call from this family asking me for a session for their daughter’s communion. We had a really fun shoot last summer at the beach (although a little challenging at times) and Mom was just one of those people I connected with quickly. Love that. And the kids were so great and easy, not to mention terribly photogenic.
Their daughter reminds me SO much of my Jack. I’d love to introduce them at some point- they’d either reeeeally get along, or reeeeeally not. She’s apparently NOT a dress girl, so this whole communion get up was a really big deal. She wore it so well, and looked lovely.
Thanks for a great shoot (again)! Hope to see you again soon!!

the sullivan blood drive
As my blog stalkers followers have read, there was a blood drive last week honoring Rob Sullivan, a great husband, father, friend and all around great guy from town. He was recently diagnosed with colorectal cancer and some of his friends put together the blood drive with buffet afterwards in his honor. They had something like 283 people show up to donate blood, 20 of which ended up being turned away because they just had too much! How awesome is that?! This is one of those times that I think our town is just a wonderful place to live- where friends and neighbors come together to help eachother when it’s needed. It’s a great thing to see and it really warms my heart.
Since I can’t give blood, I did what I do…take pictures. Here are a few from the buffet after the drive, where all donors were invited to come have a beer and some dinner on the sponsors of the event.
The man of the hour. Doesn’t he look great? And he and his wife are just SO cute together.
Everyone had lots of fun.
And an extra shout out to Nelson and my sister in law Inez who donated blood for Rob too!
If you’d like to see all of the pictures from the evening, you can find them all here.

the long surprise party
A client of mine celebrated her dad’s birthday recently with a big surprise party, and was nice enough to call me to capture it. The party was at Meribah which is the retreat house for Chaminade and was a lovely location.
I think the surprise was really a surprise, which actually surprised everyone that they were able to pull it off.
They are a really fun family and while I got some ‘nice, posed’ shots, this one with them laughing is still my favorite.
And it looked like everyone had a great time, which is what parties are all about! Thanks so much for having me along to capture the evening- hope you like the pictures!

the double 50th anniversary party
What an amazing celebration! Two couples (the brides are sisters) celebrating their 50th wedding anniversaries. Together. With allllll their families. Such a happy occasion and I was so excited to be able to capture it. I mean 50 years. 50. That is a long time, and they both looked so happy and in love.
The two brides.
Some of the grandkids. And kids. And other family members.
This shot is only of the 1st cousins. That is a LOT of people. And it took me climbing up on a chair to take it. But…we didn’t just stop at this shot, we actually got one with all of the first cousins PLUS their spouses. So just double this picture.
Time to get the party on!
Love the tears in the eyes (of most everyone there) during the toasts by the couples’ sons.
Wouldn’t be a party without a cake. (and a really beautiful one at that).
Congratulations to all of you. And thank you for letting me share in your day. You were a joy to photograph!
Hope you enjoy all the pictures.
