the bhar communion
Not a lot of boy communicants so far this season, but here’s one cutie who is all boy and was pretty happy (and a little nervous) to be making his communion last weekend.
The weather wasn’t great…in fact it was pretty bad and only got worse throughout the day. We met up at the church right before his communion mass for some shots and hid under the canopy of some pretty pink flower trees to try to stay dry while we did our thing. It worked pretty well for the most part.
The pictures are pretty deceiving. This is what it was actually like.
The bhar family are members at the same country club that we are and had their party there. I came back to the party for a few quick additional shots of some extended family who couldn’t make it before the church and some more of the family as well.
What’s a party without a really good cake!
Hope you had a wonderful day, Mr. T and family. Thanks for braving the rain with me!!

the tros communion
Communion season is officially in full swing!
Mom and I went to school together from about 4th grade on and recently reconnected on Facebook. I was happy to get to see her again (especially since I haven’t since high school), meet her family, and capture their special day.
The kids were gorgeous and so well-mannered and polite. I think all the kids had a great time at the party with all the gaming stations that were set up for them (ah, yeah. Best idea EVER!) And a fun DJ to keep the action going.
We had some proud grandparents celebrating T’s communion.
And lots of family and friends to help make the day even more special.
It was great seeing you, T. Hope you enjoy the pictures. If you’d like to see all the images from the day, please click HERE.

the heal communion
We have been friends with this good looking bunch for quite a while now. The boys all met when they were in nursery school and have been buddies since.
I was so excited when R asked me to take some pictures of their beautiful daughter for her First Communion. While it was actually NOT her actual communion day, she did have her dance recital this day so it worked out really well since she needed her hair done anyway. And as an added bonus, I got a little preview Irish Step dance in full costume in the kitchen.
Miss J was a real trooper and held out for the pictures for as long as possible on this ridiculously HOT spring morning. She was greatly cheered when I took a picture with her neighbor and friend.
Hope the recital went great and that the communion is wonderful too. Can’t wait to see you guys at the beach everyday. Soon!!

Sue’s 40th birthday
*disclaimer: all snapshots with point n shoot. I was off duty and having lots of fun. And drunk.
I haven’t seen Sue in about 100 years- really since college I think. She came back to RVC for her party, and it was so great to see her! We had a blast at the party with drinks and dancing and all 80’s music, movies, clothes, and makeup.
Even got to catch up with Dawn who I haven’t seen in about 12 or 13 years either. She looks exactly the same as she did in HS (especially with the gobs of blue eyeliner and the Frankie Says Relax t-shirt and tuxedo jacket).
John got to pal out with Ray which is always lots of laughs for both of them, and even though I see Jen often at the boys school (and at baseball last year) it’s always great to catch up uninterruped (aka without kids around).
Sue, if you finally got your laptop and are actually reading this, it was fantastic to see you and I’m so glad we finally got together. I’m hoping to take that loooooong drive to Maine this summer, and if not, then Boston sometime soon. I miss you and love you. And there’s a banana in your tailpipe, chocolate cake behind you, and Jake Ryan and John Taylor in all your magazines! Happy Birthday!!!

RVC Education Foundation Gala- Dancing with the Teachers
If you are a blog follower, then you will remember some headshots I did about a month or so ago for the teachers who were dancing at the gala. Well, as good looking as they were in the headshots, that was nothin compared to how great they looked and did at the actual event on last Saturday night.
The gala was held at HGCC and very well attended and decorated. The committee in charge did a fantastic job! The raffles were terrific as were the silent auction items.
It was so nice for me, walking in and seeing bsquared photography (HUGE) as a sponsor for the evening. And a full page ad in the journal for me as well! Those ladies took excellent care of me! (my many thanks to Amy who did all my ad’s, to Maggie who roped me into this gig in the hallways of nursery school, and to Tina who did all the coordinating of all the bsquared details.)
The evening progressed from cocktail hour (where many of my friends were avoiding me. I don’t know how I have any friends left cause they all seem to run far and fast when my camera comes out!) with a great jazz ensemble from the high school, to the dining room where speeches were made about and by the honorees. Dr. Burris and Mr. Kakis are really loved and respected for what they do and who they are. And deservedly so.
Dancing by the amazing teachers followed. Really, it was unbelieveable what these ladies (and one gentleman) were able to pull off ! They totally rocked it and the ‘audience’ was on it’s feet with lots of whoops and applause after every single dancer. And believe me, they deserved it! They were seriously fantastic!! And the costumes…fabulous!

The MC’s were such fun and had lots of great little tidbits of info about the dances themselves as well as the teachers. I think they had as much fun as anyone there.
The whole event was recorded and will be airing on The School Channel. It will be showing beginning on Friday, March 20th at 9am.
It was a great evening and it looked like everyone was having a wonderful time. When they weren’t running away from me. Here are a few shots of the people who didn’t run away.
