    the dew anniversary party

    Img_6722x

If you are a blog reader (aka stalker) you will recognize a ton of familiar faces from this party. My photography was purchased as a gift to the “bride & groom” from some of the girls I’ve done pictures for in the past, and the bride & groom’s daughters are both past clients and the girls who own bcause i said so. So, there ya go..

    Img_6713b Img_6726cbw Img_6731b Img_6744b Img_6747cbw Img_6758b Img_6760b Img_6766b Img_6772b Img_6781b Img_6802b Img_6838b Img_6851b Img_6873b Img_6880b Img_6911cbw Img_6950b Img_6964b Img_6973b Img_6984cbw

The ‘groom’ was a relentless ball breaker and I got a good dose of it. Luckily, I’ve become quite accostomed to that with all the dads/husbands/grandpas/men that really, REALLY dislike me with my camera and now I no longer take it personally. But as the day wore on and everyone became more lubricated, he eased up on me. A little. They are really a very fun couple and did everything I asked (with the occassional eye roll). I did love the hands over the cake picture above, recreating their original wedding photo. The gorgeous cake (and I heard it was delish too, but I left before that part) was made by www.jojokakes.com. All the kids had a great time in the pool and on the new waterslide. And the “big kids” (aka adults) were enjoying hanging out at “the liffey” which I was told, the bar they all used to hang out with when they were teenagers, and where the bride & groom originally met. Most importantly, I think the bride & groom were very happy to be surrounded by their friends and family that love them.

The celebration was at one of the daughters houses and was a sorta surprise. And yes, that’s really their backyard. Crazy huge! And Peter…sorry about stepping on the sod. I tried to tread lightly. (The host just finished putting in his new pool, patio, and sod. He was very protective of the sod- hence this face when he saw me walking on it yet again.)

    the scw 80th birthday

    Img_6014b

Headed up to the NYAC in Pelham last weekend for an 80th birthday party shoot. A beautiful area with a great family. And what a great man the birthday “boy” was! So together and kind and you could totally see how much his whole family just adores him. He has 8 children, and about a zillion grandchildren. All of them girls- except for one. Can you imagine?

    the mor christening

A guest and a photographer- best of both worlds. My good friend Sharon’s 3 month old son (that would be Timmy’s brother in law best girl’s little brother) was christened last week and we were invited to the party. My gift was the photography. I got a ton of shots at the christening itself and at the party after, but wanted to do some more at home. So back into the outfit the poor kid went and we snapped some outside. I say poor kid cause both days it was about 90 + degrees outside. We kept it short! So here are some of my favorites from the day.

Some of my favorite families/clients were at the party. If you are a blog reader, you’ll recognize some of them. And I have shoots coming up with three of them in the near future. It’s so nice seeing them in between shoots- getting to know them better- which will only help me capture them better next time!

    the mar communion

Well, not the actual communion, but the dress just the same. The actual communion was a week or two before but mom wanted to capture her beautiful daughter in her beautiful dress, so that’s where I came in. Unfortunately, it was an extremely rainy day so we had to do everything inside the house. But I think we made it work regardless. the gup christening

Img_5012cbw Did the pre-christening shoot for the little gup baby on Saturday (the actual christening was today and so was my parents wedding, so I couldn’t go to shoot the actual event). Met the grandparents (mom’s parents) who I just absolutely adored. They are the NICEST people, ever. Everyone is just so thrilled about this little baby who is such a miracle. I love taking pictures of her- she and her whole family are just so special. Their story is here if you don’t know what I’m talking about.

When I walked into the house, the dress was hanging right here just for me to photograph. I love my clients. They totally get it!! Img_4726mo Img_4734sl Img_4748sl Img_4751mo Img_4763sl Img_4780sl Img_4812cbw Img_4860x Img_4883mo Img_4873x

Did some shots at the house, some inside the cathedral, and some at my favorite arches. A little different perspective since it’s not like the 3 month old baby can stand up in the arches, so I was doing a lot of laying on the floor. The baby was not happy for a good deal of the shoot (and we really pissed her off pulling out the paci everytime she fell asleep or calmed down) but she really rallied and pulled it out at the end with some gorgeous smiles and giggles. She even got a special blessing from the bishop who we ran into by the church.

Grandpa, thanks for getting the bottle (even though it wasn’t put to use til after)! Hope you all love the pictures. You know the drill, the rest of the pix are in an album on the left. Click to see any image larger.
