the cle communion
Saturday I got to shoot the cle family communion. Another family you may recognize from holiday time. They were as sweet and welcoming as always (although the mom kept trying to send me home..but I wouldn’t leave til I got all the shots I wanted!) and the kids were so great. Very easy going and so easy to photograph. Of course it dosen’t hurt that they are so gorgeous either! This one is my favorite, I think. Such a model!

the loc communion
And so communion season begins. I am very booked up with at least two communions (usually more) every weekend between now and the first weekend in May. Going to try my best to stay on top of the pictures, but if it takes a little longer to get them posted, I apologize in advance.
This little girl was so lovely in her dress, but I felt so bad for her as it was pretty freezing outside. She was a real trooper and didn’t complain. We ran into some unexpected stuff going on in the church so we only had a few brief minutes to get in, take pictures, and get out. Most of them were done outside. I do love the ones of her in the church though…especially the ones where she looks like she’s glowing in the middle of the aisle. Like an angel.

Another 1st birthday (it must be spring)
I always felt like you knew it was spring when all the babies were being born. So in continuing the First Birthday trend (especially the pink part), here’s another first birthday party. The little girl was pretty wary of me most of the time, but warmed up eventually. Spongebob himself made an appearance at the party. Most of the kids really liked him. And wasn’t the cake so unique and adorable. Perfect for the birthday princess!

the arg christening
Had this shoot (and one other that I am working on now) earlier today for my friend M and her family. They were celebrating their baby’s christening today. One of the baby’s godmothers is from Italy and will be returning home shortly, so I wanted to get the pictures done right away so she could get a chance to have them before she left. I just loved listening to many of the family members speak in Italian- it’s my most favorite language to listen to. I don’t understand much (ok, hardly any) but I just love the way it sounds!
The baby was so beautiful in her dress, and is such a happy little girl. She has filled out so much since the last time I saw her for her newborn and christmas shoot. So smiley and cute. And her older sister is as gorgeous as ever and such a good subject. It helps when the whole family is so good looking. And on top of all those good looks, they are all so sweet. I was offered cakes, cookies, and champagne. (those Italians and us Jews have a lot in common with the pushing people to eat). Didn’t have the desserts as I am working so hard to do well on this week’s weigh in, and didn’t have the champagne as I didn’t want their pictures to be crooked and blurry. But thanks for offering!!
Took a few shots at the church as some of the family wasn’t able to make it to the house beforehand.

a wedding shower & a late night
I was asked to do some pictures at a bridal shower last night- and I had a GREAT time! I knew almost everyone at the shower thru many different avenues (friends, former co-workers, siblings/relatives of friends) and I’ve done pictures previously for quite a few of them. You’ll probably recognize a bunch of the faces at the shower from other posts/albums on the blog.
I have to say as a side note that’s it’s so cool walking into someone’s house and seeing pictures that I took enlarged and in frames on display throughout the house. Such a boost, ya know? That makes me so happy.
Anyway, the bride to be is such a sweet girl and I am soooo happy for her. I will be shooting the wedding in about 2 weeks so be on the lookout for those pictures soon. (They probably won’t be on the blog until late February as we are leaving for Disney like 2 days after the wedding so I won’t have time before to edit). The shower was at the bride’s sister’s house- who’s birthday it was earlier in the week. She was very generous not only opening her house for the shower, but giving up her birthday (which I have come to understand is a VERY BIG DEAL as she dosen’t like to share that date with anyone) to do it. We did hear quite a few times during the course of the evening that she gave up her birthday-it somehow made it into almost every conversation of the night. You’re a good girl, T! And Happy Birthday!
I had a great time shooting at the shower. It was a really fun, intimate get together. So easy to shoot when you know almost everyone there. She got some great gifts and I got some great shots. I was planning on doing my usual 2hr deal at the shower, but was having so much fun catching up with everyone and hanging out (after taking all the pictures) that it was around 2:30am before I left! Oops.
