the wed family
Here are the tiny, very new (8 days old in the pictures), adorable twins, glowing parents, and beautiful sister I mentioned over the weekend. I did a shoot for them on Saturday which turned into a three hour session. Ya, three hours. My big aplogies to the family again as I invaded their house for like ever. I usually figure on two hours for a newborn shoot, but as I really, really should have known, it took an extra hour with twins. In an average newborn shoot, there are a lot of breaks for feeding, changing, settling, etc. I guess I kinda forgot to double that. Well, let’s just hope that the family thinks the very extended shoot time was worth it once they see the pictures!
They were just the nicest family- so warm and welcoming. And calm. With 3 kids two and under. So impressive. Doesn’t mom look wonderful? She had twins via Csection 8 days ago!!! Turns out I went to High School with her and I pass her sister (didn’t know it was her sister) all the time on my way to pick up the boys from school. The world just keeps getting smaller.

the cil baby
Did a photoshoot for this adorable little family last weekend. (almost caught up…just one more weekend shoot to edit!) Had a great time with them, swapping pregnancy horror stories. Their little girl is about 3 months old and just delish! And those eyes. Those huge, take it all in, sparkly, round as saucer eyes. I dare you to look at the pictures without smiling!! I just love this whole series on the white fluffy stuff..
You smiled, right?? See I told ya. And here she is saying "i love you thiiiiiiiis much"

the mcd baby
My third and final shoot from last weekend, at last. This baby was such a smiley little thing- which was especially surprising since he’s only just a month old! I don’t think I’ve ever seen social smiles (and believe me, they for sure were social smiles- not gas) in a baby this little. And when he smiled, it was really kinda heart melting! His parents said they have never seen him this awake for this long in his short life. And this baby just had the best eye contact! He was forever looking right at me. He and I really hit it off and were fast friends! Dad, as most dads, wasn’t so excited by the whole photoshoot prospect, but I think he liked me more after the Mets pictures.

the mor baby & family
Took some newborn & family pictures for my good friend Sharon today. She and her husband welcomed a new adorable baby boy last week and I finally got my hands and camera on him today. And it was a lot of fun. He was a very good boy and a good sport about pretty much everything. But, poor daddy got peed on (only once, but it was a lot), and he got my velvet backdrop too. But somehow Sharon avoided that! The kid knows where his loyalties lie already. His big sister was very cooperative (hope she got her Carvel!) and very loving. She is always one of my most favorite subjects.
Got the little man in a bunch of fun positions- in a basket, in a suitcase, on a chair…This poor kid is going to take the wrath of my new camera. Too bad– until he’s old enough to protest, he’s stuck with me.

little bundle of goodness (aka “the gup baby”)
Oh my god! Not only does this little family have the BEST story ever, but the baby is just scrumptious! Had the best time shooting them this morning. I have about a thousand favorite pictures from this session, so just be forewarned…there are lots below.
Ok, for the short version of the BEST story (being told with permission)…I met the mom in my scrapbook class where a few of the moms in the class were expecting. Everyone was discussing when they were due. When C said she was due in February, I said something like "wow, you could never even tell you are pregnant". That’s cause she wasn’t. Well, not directly. They had a lot of trouble holding on to a pregnancy after many tries, so they decided to find a surrogate. The baby is all theirs, the surrogate was their "oven" for 9 months and did a fabulous job cooking up this little muffin. Here comes one of my favorite parts…when the two families (the parents and the surrogate) were looking at eachother’s profiles and trying to see if it would be a match, do you know what the one standout feature was? They were both scrapbookers! And that kinda sealed the deal. So 9+ months later, the Gup family has a wonderful little baby girl thanks in no small part to their wonderful surrogate. They were even able to make it in time for the birth in a neighboring state and have been with their baby since the moment she was born. How fabulous is that??!! Best story, right?! I don’t think I have ever seen two happier parents. Ever. All the work and expense (both monetarily and emotionally) they put into this baby has paid off a zillion fold. They are just on cloud 9. It was so wonderful to see and I hope I did that love some justice!
This is right around the time daddy got peed on. Sorry, J. But on the up side, he is a doctor and has seen a LOT worse!
The original baby. Sophie is the sweetest dog ever. So, so well behaved. And a love.
When awake, she LOATHED the chair. I mean this poor girl was screaming her little head off. She was pissed!! But sleeping, it was all good.
The sign just about sums her story up.
Ok, so she hated the squishy warm chair, but loved the cold, hard platter. Huh.
