the pow baby- Christmas mini session
I almost feel like I am this baby’s personal paparazzi! Between the maternity session, the newborn shoot, making the birth announcement, now the Christmas mini-shoot…and then I will making the Christmas card, and also shooting her Christening later this month! I’m sure she will grow to loathe me and my camera…kinda like my own kids!
She was a total doll again today. She has really filled out since the last time I saw her when she was just 2 weeks old. But she still has those same alert, I know exactly what you are up to missy, eyes. I even managed to capture some sweet baby smiles. My only complaint…the kid dosen’t sleep! She would LOOK like she was sleeping, but it was just a lie. Everytime we moved her from the position she fell asleep in, she woke right up. And the doggie is super good too. He spent a bit of the shoot sitting right in my lap! Not easy shooting with a dog in your lap, but he was too cute to make move. Oh, and the baby HATED the hats. She got so pissed off about them, so no hat smiley pictures. Too funny. As much as she hated the hat, that’s how much the dog wanted to/tried to eat it.
So looking forward to making this card, but it’s going to be tough. Too many good shots to choose from!

Pow! Baby!
Well, here she is. Patrick’s teacher from 1st grade and her husband’s brand new little girl. She is just beautiful!! Only a week old and she dosen’t even have that newborn look about her at all. I had such a great time photographing everyone today (thanks again, Beth, for the camera loan!). She was such a good baby, awake and asleep. With the whole camera debacale, I can’t get the other 220 pictures I took today off of the camera until the new one arrives, so these two will have to hold you over until then. Isn’t she so sweet and pink?? I can’t wait to show you the rest. And how much do we love the basket???

a new baby (almost)
Yesterday I did a little photoshoot for Patrick’s first grade teacher who is pregnant (and due in about 5 weeks). I MADE her do it-told her she was my guinea pig for my first maternity shoot. And it went really, really well. The weather was not particularly cooperative (very cloudy and cool with mist/rain) so the light was not the best. Had to use my flash (which I hate using) for the inside shots but it ended up being ok, the black and white conversions look great. My favorite of the day is the couch one, and I also love the sonogram one. They are such a good looking couple that it was so easy (and the fact that they are adults and took direction was such a nice change too). And how good does she look? I looked like that when I was about…you know what, I never looked that good while pregnant EVER. They love their current baby – the dog (he was apparently imported from Ireland) so we had to include him in a few pictures too.
They use the same OB group as I did so we had some laughs over that and some good pregnancy stories. And most importantly, I got a promise that I will be doing the baby’s photoshoot when he or she is born. I haven’t done a newborn shoot in a long while and I am really looking forward to that. They don’t know what they are having- so exciting!!! I could never do that waiting thing. I’m glad someone can!
Here are some that I can post for now. Others in an album to the left under Mrs.P. More to come…

a little photoshoot in DC
Our friends N and C are moving from the DC area all the way to Australia!! It worked out so well that we got a chance to see them and meet their beautiful new baby (and I got to take pictures-bonus!) before they leave later this month. N and I have been friends since freshman year at U of Miami- he’s one of those people who you won’t talk to for years, and will suddenly pop back into your life and it will be like you just spoke last week. He travels so much for work so staying in touch is a challenge, but having them live in the DC area let us visit twice in the last 2 years. So we figured it’s now about 20 years (omg- I cannot be that old!!) that we have been friends, since that first Christmas break I drove to Cherry Hill to pick him up, when the cat ate his sweater and I got mono. And whenever Private Benjamin comes on…well, "I want to go shopping. I want to be normal again". So me, right N?
Anyway I got to take a few shots of their new baby girl super quick before they had to bail for a feeding and constant movement. I hope you guys like the pictures. I had a great time taking them. And C, good luck with that new camera. You’re gonna loooooove it. And how good does C (mom) look- the baby was only 1 month old exactly in the pictures! Here are 2 of my favorites. The rest are in an album on the left under BABY CM. Just click and look.
