the kra block party
This has become an annual traditional shoot for me which I am very happy about! It’s always a super fun afternoon/evening filled with fun people and rockin bands and this year was the same- we even had good weather this year. And for the first time their son played a duet with his dad (Jackson on drums just like his dad, dad on guitar) on Johnny Cash’s Folsom Prison Blues. Jackson even had groupies!! There was a freshly engaged couple, a waterslide, a few bands, a pop-up surprise birthday cake, lots of food, drinks and fun!

kenny’s birthday/block party/rockshow
I can’t even believe it’s been a year since the last one because it feels like last week, not last year! Unfortunately the weather wasn’t really cooperating much this year, but we still managed to make it work and they even were able to uncover the equipment long enough to play a little too. Hope everyone had a great time at the party- I was so happy to be there to photograph a little of it. (we couldn’t light the candles on the birthday cake because rain & wind, but i hope Kenny’s wishes came true anyway!)

brian & janet
Taking a small break from communions to post something different. Met up with my longtime “band friend” Brian and his girl Janet (who now have a band together called The Jackson Massive) and just grabbed a few really quick shots of them. Of course we met up at Kookaburra, where they live when they’re not at home or playing a gig. Purple hair= so awesome.

brian ripps @ the paramount
Exciting stuff! I got a last minute text from my longtime friend Brian (been shooting him for 8 years now) telling me he was just booked as the opening act for REO Speedwagon at the Paramount Theater in Huntington. There was no way I could miss this! So off I went and got my photo pass, got backstage and shot the hell out of his performance. Glad I could say “I’m with the band”! He got great reviews and put on a fab show!

the turn @ st. baldrics (molloy college)
Its been such a long time since I’ve photographed these guys playing, so I was really glad I got an opportunity to do it recently. And all while they were playing for a great cause!
Brian is really the one who should’ve gotten his hair cut but he adamantly refused. It took me a long time to convince him to even take off his hat cause he was sure they were going to just throw him into the chair to shave it all off once they saw how long it was. But Pat is the one who volunteered this year. He went from Paul Rudd… (ok, but seriously. the resemblance is truly uncanny)…to Adam Levine. Brian was digging Pat’s new haircut. And the band played on.
