All clear! And in other news…
John got the go-ahead from his surgeon today and he’s going back to work tommorrow. Yippppeeeeee! I think we are both very, very happy about that. Very. He’s also allowed to drive again. The doctor took out the staples today and the incision is healing up nicely (it looks bad still, but healing well). Still only very short days at work, no trials, no bending, lifting, or twisting. But it’s progress. Here’s how it’s looking today without staples (warning: still way gross- but very colorful!)
John had a very big day today- going out for the whole morning. A haircut, a haircut for me, a visit to the doctor, a trip to the pharmacy (all by himself!) for some Darvocet. Vicodin, Percoset, Darvocet…take your pick. We got em all. I think he’s all kinds of worn out. I spent part of the night scrubbing off all the adhesive residue on his back from the bandages. yeah, that was fun.
So with John heading to work for a while in the morning, Jack, Patrick & Timmy going to school I will have the whole house to myself for the first time in over a week. I am going to just sit and listen to the quiet. For 15 minutes anyway. Then there is lots of stuff to do, as always. But I can’t wait. Sad, that I’m so excited about that, huh?
Did you hear about Patrick Swayze? He has pancreatic cancer. I don’t know why, but this news is making me very sad. I guess cause I grew up with his movies and I always liked him. Ya know…"no one puts baby in the corner". I hope he makes it.
I think I need to mention that I don’t really care for the age of 8. The mouths on them sometimes are just unbeliveable. And not in a good way. In the way you just want to bang their heads together. You know what I’m talking about. And I think they must be bi-polar. All lovey and happy and good and then the next second…eyerolling, attitude filled, know everything, fresh mouthed, tvinduceddeafness, scutches! I think they need to be outside. Maybe permanently.
Looks like Timmy (almost) officially has low muscle tone. He failed his OT evaluation miserably and now has a PT evaluation next weekend. I still don’t know exactly how he did on the speech part (the therapist said he was borderline). It’s gonna be a while until we have definite results and move on to the CPSE meeting. But he is still as super cute and lovey and smart as always! My oldest friend Ivy came by for dinner tonight (thanks, I) and asked if she could keep him. Sorry, but him I can’t do without. What other 3 year old says "i love you sooooo much mommy" out of nowhere? I could just sqeeeeeeze him til he pops! We stopped by my favorite staircase/alleyway while running to the deli yesterday afternoon. He wasn’t in a good mood at all until I started calling him "timmyboo cranky pants". Then it was funny. For a while anyway.
