    kellenberg pre {not a prom} prom party

    I have to say how awesome and polite and well mannered all these kids were! Everyone at the party was all “please” and “thank you so much” and just easy and nice! I loved that they just went as a big, fun group- no actual dates- just a lot of friends having a lot of fun. We luckily missed the torrential rain for the pictures but I hope it didn’t mess up their boat ride that night. Best of luck to all of these graduating seniors and their parents- they’ll go on to do great things! Oh, and the funnest part was my beach neighbors were at the party too! Its always weird seeing beach people in clothing. You know what I mean.

    maya’s bat mitzvah {the luncheon}

    Another fabulous part of this fabulous girl’s bat mitzvah. They held a lovely luncheon at Limani in Manhasset with just a few of Maya’s friends and lots of family. It was really lovely with everyone important to Maya and family there to celebrate. Maya’s grandpa had all of his 60+ year BFFs there (they all grew up in the same building in Queens) and then one of their daughters and Maya’s mom coincidentily became BFFs in college! Great story, right?! Stay tuned for one (or possibly two) more installments of this Bat Mitzvah celebration.

    maya’s bat mitzvah {the service}

    Maya recently celebrated her Bat Mitzvah with a two day event. The first night was a service at home (which was originally planned for outside but rain thwarted those plans) with all the decorations and service moved inside. It was still so lovely and personal! And my favorite part was their dog walking around during the whole service- he was like a service dog! Sorry, had to. It was a lovely service with the tiniest Torah I have ever seen- it was smaller than the challah bread! Maya did a great job! Stay tuned for the luncheon and then kids party coming soon.
