goin old skool
The first of two, yes two, blog posts for today. I couldn’t get it together to post the big one yet (some amazing Turn pictures), so here’s a little teaser post first.
Saw these shirts in Old Navy and just could not resist. I remember first hearing some Run DMC in the summer of 1984 from girls in my bunk at Camp Sequoia. I came home rapping that summer. Sad, but true.
That, and the fact that my husband (in his Brooks Brothers suits, Mercedes, with trial bag in the car on the way to the Courthouse) thinks he’sfrom the ‘hood. His CD collection in his car consists mostly of NWA, Eminem, Notorious B.I.G., Dr. Dre, WuTang Clan, Beastie Boys, etc. He puts the Fat Boys on YouTube all the time for Timmy. You’d never suspect, right?! So he had to have a shirt too.
Now if I could just find some Addidas clamshells in Timmy’s size.
Stay tuned for another post today, with more musical references.

the brit kids {mini session}
Going to be another short on words post today. I’m so far behind the 8ball, I can’t even see it! Just want to get everyone’s pictures up asap.
Loved photographing this bunch of gorgeous blondies. We had an afterschool minisession at Hempstead Lake, where we ran all over and took some pictures.
The boys had both been in class with Timmy at one time or another in nursery school.
And the little girl, so so cute!! I got to hear her sing some Black Eyed Peas, which was cuter than anything.
Mom wanted one with her little girl (which apparently dosen’t happen all too often), so we fit that in too. And I love the interaction between the brothers.
Hope you enjoy the pictures!

the bott family
Can I say how much I adore this family? I really do.
Their oldest girl goes to school with Jack & Patrick, and John knows mom from back in the day.
Dad is a fireman. Couldn’t pass up the perfect prop that was there specifically for our shoot.
They were really a lot of fun to photograph and although the littlest lost interest pretty quickly, we still got some great stuff.
I think this one should be the Christmas Card.
Timmy is the proud receipient of many of J’s handmedowns. Thanks Mr. J. There is something just so totally BOY about the baseball glove shot- love that.
I had a great time taking your pictures! (and a special shout out to Miss C, who really hammed it up for me like crazy, much to her whole family’s surprise!).

the raic girls
This is one of those “I can’t believe it’s you” stories. Mom and I were really good friends back in elementary school (K-3rd grade until I moved) and I saw her name on another completely unrelated friend’s Facebook page. So I messaged her…and well, the rest is photographic history.
I tried to find a picture of she and I from way back in the day, but the photo album is at my mom’s somewhere and I couldn’t find it in time to post the pictures. So if I do dig it up, I’ll post it in January when things calm down.
Her girls are the cutest, most outgoing, sweet, polite kids. Like ever. I loved every minute of taking their pictures. They were game for everything and anything I suggested and were just plain old fun!
Not to mention gorgeous. All 3 of them.
Loved all the colors and textures during this shoot. They just made me happy.
It was the crazy windiest day that day and everyone’s hair was going everywhere. I tried to keep us out of the wind, but sometimes it just didn’t work out. Still made the pix look good though!
Thanks H for messaging me back on FB. So glad to renew our friendship from Plaza Elementary! Looking forward to lots more fun times ahead!!

the schn family
Please excuse the fact that I’m a little short on words today. Went out last night for dinner with my friend and then met some more friends at a bar to see ‘my’ band. Have a shoot this morning and then a jammed packed day with the boys, and then a family wedding (attending, not shooting) upstate tonight. Just trying to get everyone’s pictures on the blog asap. And this family has a lot of pictures to blog.
This very sweet family met me at a local park for a photoshoot with a built in picnic. Mom brought the whole awesome set up, including homemade lemonade, homemade chocolate lollipops (why there was not one with a B on it, I’m not sure), and a whole spread of stuff. It was so great and they look right out of a magazine. Dontcha think?
Just have to throw out a special nod to dad who not only was fasting for the holiday that day, but had a terrible sinus infection on top of not eating. He was a real trooper and stuck it out for the shoot. Go dad!
Thanks again, schn family. I had a great time (and maybe next time you’ll have a chocolate lollipop for me too. I’ll give you extra pictures for free…)
