    the taru family

Back in the fall, I did a senior session for their oldest and also a few quick pictures of all the brothers too. Didn’t want to leave anyone out! They were a great bunch of boys (and mom!) and I had a great time working with them all! Plus, there are twins so I’m all about that.

    kiera’s 1st communion

The first, first communion of the year and it was this beauty! She and I have come a long way since we first met for her brother’s communion photos. She was not having it. At all. No pictures whatsoever. And on this day, we had poses and smiles! Such a great looking family and as nice as they are gorgeous!

The 2nd annual Kevin Owen’s Sea King Run 4 Life

I’m so proud of my friend Kenny! This was his 2nd annual Run to Remember dedicated to the memory of his brother. He ran 27 miles in 24 hours (with runs at 4am, 8am, 12pm, 4pm, 8pm and 12am) to honor his late brother’s life taken too soon by cancer after a long and brave battle. This year they teamed up with a few local families and foundations in order to give back to the community as well. Although I did not run (shocking, I know) I did go over to take some pictures of the 4pm run and went back (just as a supporter, not a photographer) for the 12am run to see Kenny finish strong. Donations were made to foundations and causes close to their hearts, including Natalie’s Wings, the Tommy Brull Foundation, Dane Kasschau, The Fernandez Family, The Jamison Novello Scholarship. Kenny and his wife Mary Ellen are not only the best bsquared supporters, but amazing friends and people. Obviously!

    the smi family

What do I even say about this bunch? I’ve been photographing them for about a million years (the youngest wasn’t even born when I started with them and now he’s in middle school!!). We always seem to have a story for our shoots- a beach squall that was insane, a swarm of flies another time). I’m so sad to say that their gorgeous and nutty dog Henry passed away not too long after our shoot. I know he’ll be waiting for them on that rainbow bridge someday. He brought so much love, craziness and joy to the family (and they to him too) and I know he’s a dog I won’t soon forget either.
