half-weekend update
Halfway thru the weekend and so much already done. Not including the never ending cycle of laundry. I loathe the laundry. Seriously.
Friday night went to the boys school Parents Night Out and had some fun talking to a few friends. Didn’t stay late, but Timmy was so happy cause Andie came to watch him & his brothers. Being at the bar with Tommy & Denice seemed like old times back in the Sharks bartending days. Funny.
Yesterday, we took all the boys to see Monsters vs. Aliens (cute) and then the big boys had their very first baseball practice for the season. They look pretty professional this year with good uniforms. And could the colors be anymore perfect for them?
Went to the ‘cruncy club’ for Family Fun Night last night with Olivia and her family, and John’s partner Kevin and his family. So everyone had someone (or two or more someones) their age to play with. Well, except for Gavin who kept all the adults entertained with his utter cuteness or chasing after him crawling across the dining room floor. It was a lot of fun with a movie and bowling and pingpong and face painting and ice cream and some wine (that part was for the grown ups). We didn’t get home until after 10pm and were the last ones to leave.
Today is CitiField for all the boys to see the very first game being played there (St.John’s vs. Georgetown). If the rain holds out enough, that is. I’m off to my sister in law Gail’s baby shower this afternoon with my mom (it’s not a surprise, so it’s okay to post beforehand, don’t worry!) at my in-laws house. Gail’s sister is a photographer so I think I’m even leaving the camera at home. How nice.
Back to the never ending laundry now. Did I mention that I loathe the laundry?

just one shot
of our new friend. Taken super quickly Thursday. Hang in there for more-a full shoot of this new little boy scheduled for this week. Pictures soon.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Just saw Monsters vs. Aliens (cute) and the big boys are at their first baseball practice this season. Dinner at the ‘crunchy’ club tonight with Timmy’s other BFF, Olivia and her family. And it’s actually pretty nice out on top of all the other good stuff.

the calm before the storm
It’s getting to be that time of year. The time when photographers rejoice (well, at least this photographer) because there is hope that we might just get outside to start shooting again. Today is the first day that it feels like spring since it’s been spring!
I have booked 12 new shoots within the last week. The 12 don’t include a bunch of newborn babies I’m waiting to hear have “hatched”. This is a reminder to all of you who are waiting to see when the weather will turn before booking, you might want to just book now so you can get your spot.
The photography madness really begins for me the 2nd week of April. I’m pretty quiet between now and then so I’m trying to get as much rest as I can so I’m ready to jump in back to full time shooting. I’m so excited! I have so many ideas floating around in my head that I can’t wait to put to good use. I’ve all but run out of bribes with my boys.
And since a post is just blah without a picture, here’s a recent one of Timmy (milk mustache and all). The most over photographed child in America. Or even the universe. I’m lucky he’ll still sit for me. For now.

the pows family
This family came to me thru the powe family- they are cousins. And I think I fell in love with their little boy just a little the second I walked thru the door. What a cutie pie!
His first birthday is this week, so the photoshoot was in honor of his special celebration. He’s definitely the apple of his parents eye.
The other baby had to get her moment in the spotlight too. In her cute doggy tshirt no less.
Poor guy is teething- hence the ‘booboo face’. But honestly it’s not a sad face, he’s sucking on his lips.
I loved their home- great colors and decorating in every room. His happy apple green playroom was a photographers dream.
Mom almost didn’t let me upstairs, but after seeing his room, she couldn’t have kicked me out if she wanted to. Sorry, but as soon as I saw the sky painted on his slanty ceiling, I was staying!
I had a great time meeting all of you. Thanks for the fun morning. Can’t wait to make your storyboard…

The Turn & St. Baldricks
There is a national organization called St. Baldricks that benefits children with cancer. From their website: “St. Baldrick’s is the world’s largest volunteer-driven fundraising event for childhood cancer research. Thousands of volunteers shave their heads in solidarity of children with cancer, while requesting donations of support from friends and family.”
Immediately following the RVC St. Patrick’s Parade, a St. Baldrick’s fundraiser was held at the local parish center. Eric (who has appeared here on the bsquared blog a number of times in the past and who is Brian of The Turn’s big brother) volunteered to be a shavee, and I was asked along to document the whole process.
I already thought that Eric was a great guy with a big heart, but doing this just proved that all the more. This is a cause that is very close to both Brian and Eric’s hearts (not to mention their dad, Geoff, who unfortunately couldn’t be there that day no matter how much he wanted to. Hopefully the pictures will be as close to being there as possible.). Their mom, Lynn, passed away from cancer when they were very young. This was a wonderful tribute to her memory and further proof of what good boys she raised.
Eric signed in but we were told there was a VERY long wait, so we ran over to Kookaburra Coffee Co. in town. This is where Brian and Eric have their office and spend a LOT of time. Everyone there was pretty excited to hear about what Eric was about to do.
After quite a while, it was finally Eric’s turn. And the shaving of the giant, thick mop of hair on his head commenced.
The before and after. And the during and after (they take that hair down LOW). And also the remains of the after. That’s a lot of hair!
While Eric was under the razor, Brian was watching on and totally teared up. And then when Eric was finished… Well, I felt a little like I was invading a moment here, but it was so special between super close brothers and I knew their Dad would want to see it, so I snapped it. I know their mom was looking over them and was as proud as a mom could be (yeah, crying a little myself right now … and I know you are too).
After chatting with the volunteers and showing them his new look, they wanted to head back to Kookaburra (Eric couldn’t seem to stop touching his “new” head!) where everyone had a look and couldn’t resist touching it too.
