an update & the dunn family
First an update from around here:
John’s doing pretty well. We went to see the surgeon in NYC yesterday (Timmy came with us and was sooooo good) and John is now allowed to drive, but only very short distances. So now the coffee/newspaper crisis is over. The doctor was pleased with what he saw and took out the staples. John saw the xray of the metal mesh cage that is now in place of his disc and the HUGE 3-4 inch screws that are holding it in. Pleasant, huh? Two more weeks and he can go back to work a little bit. Not that he understands what "little bit" means.
In other news, our medicine cabinet fell off the wall in the downstairs bathroom, crashing into the sink and cracking it a LOT. So we have to get the cabinet put back up and now I get to go out and find a new sink. Cause I have the time and money for that.
And now on a happier note, on to the dunn family. Again, a repeat family who is just a pleasure to be around. The girls are adorable and so sweet and actually WANTED me to take their pictures this year (a great change for me!). Well, at least until they had enough! We had a great time and the girls were happy to make a game out of almost everything which elicited tons of smiles and giggles. I love a fun shoot!

the pear family
I’m sure that if you are a blog follower that you will recognize this good looking family from last year. The girls grew up so much over the last year and although they are still pretty shy, they were more at ease with me. I don’t know if it was the year older, the fact that I see them at both the boys schools occassionally, or the fact that I started talking about High School Musical. MInd you, I know next to nothing about the whole HSM thing since the boys are not the slightest bit interested but I must’ve faked it okay.
Mom had the girls hair blown out- it looked super. And they worked the camera like real models! Check em out!

the leo family
Before meeting this family, I figured I would really have my work cut out for me just based on the fact that there were two boys- both under 6. But I can report that they were absolutely wonderful. They were so great and fun and well behaved and I think we had a great time together. Mom (who is like model-gorgeous by the way) and dad were both super nice and welcoming and up for all my crazy requests.
Mom showed me some pictures displayed in their home that another photographer has taken of the boys over the past few years so I could get a good idea of the style she likes. Luckily, I didn’t have to work very hard to ‘match’ the style as it is very similar to mine. They are big on b/w so you will see a more than usual amount of those below and in the album.
Had a great time with all of you. You boys rocked it!!! You were the best subjects- and so handsome. A family with the complete package.

the huss family @ central park
This whole day ended up working out so well. John was still in the hospital so after my morning shoot out here I went into the city to visit with him for a bit and then jumped into a taxi up to central park. The weather was perfect and the park was gorgeous. I really hope some of my other clients want to go in to central park for a shoot. There are endless possibilites there and one location is better than the next. (hint, hint people)!
This is my second shoot for the huss family and we had a great time. I last photographed them at their adorable daughter’s 1st birthday in December 2007 (and I will be there for her 2nd birthday party this December as well). She’s really just so cute and animated. The smiles were a little hard to coax out of her but when I got one- it was like magic!
Looking forward to seeing you guys again soon to catch more of Miss K in action!
