the mol communion
Here’s another "you may remember" family, from way back when. This family is another one of my very first clients- I did a shoot for them with tons of Coach stuff (bags, umbrellas, hats, etc) as their dad works for Coach. Three little blonde haired cuties, these kids. They are just so gorgeous! The oldest made her First Communion last weekend and the party was down at their beach club. While the day was pretty chilly and quite grey, we managed to get a bunch of great shots- especially of the kids down at the beach.
Don’t ya just love the very color coordinated family? And speaking of color coordinated, check out the picture of the mom and her good friends. They said they didn’t even plan it…I’m not convinced! It was just all too perfect!
And my all time most favorite shot from the whole day…talk about perfection! I think all that’s missing is a little halo around her head!

mommy & me night
Tonight, Timmy’s class had a mommy & me night where we went to his classroom and played for an hour (please overlook the chocolate teddy grahams in his teeth- he had a snack in the car on the way over). We had a blast! It was so nice being in his classroom and seeing him in his element; playing with his friends and seeing which toys he liked the most. We played a bunch of playdough,
he made a picture frame (surprisingly, he was wearing a pirate hat in the picture his teachers took!), he made a whole feast in the kitchen (yes, daddy, the kitchen!!),
and grilled up a burger on the grill.
They also did a few rounds of musical chairs (so cute!), ring around the rosy, and some hand songs.
Of course, on the way out the "old married couple" had to run on the ramp (which they are really not supposed to do). When I told them to give eachother some love, Timmy did it for a second and was ready to split. But his wife held on tight!

the boys & the turn
So ever since I started working with the band, the big boys have been on me about taking them to see them play. Now that they are playing mostly clubs (no more colleges for now), I can’t exactly bring them to a bar. So I asked the guys if they would mind if I brought the boys to a practice. Thankfully (and really, they are all so nice) they said yes so we went over tonight quick. We earplugged up, and good thing too cause it was LOUD with all that equipment in that little room and only got in about 15 minutes before we had to go. I had to make it for scrapbook class. They really dug it (even though we only got to hear one full song plus Lance & Pat jamming a bit beforehand) although they don’t look it in the pictures. Even with the earplugs I think they were surprised just how loud it really was. So they look bored, but they were just trying to cover their ears even more. They were a bit dissapointed that there was no singing (just instruments) at the practice, but they were impressed. In fact, John told me that the whole way home in the car and for about an hour after Jack was just going on and on about the whole thing. After a while Patrick had had enough and said "okay, we get it. you reeeeeeally liked the band." Well, I do too.

the bar family
So excited because my favorite little park is now all GREEN. Really green. So green, I’m thinking I want to take my boys there to take some pictures. Spring makes such a big difference. New York is no longer brown and grey!
Met up with the bar family at the park Saturday morning for a family photo shoot. And although it was really green, the sky was pretty grey. Which was fine cause that’s really the optimal lighting– no harsh shadows to deal with. This family is one of my first "real" clients- ones I didn’t know, that were referred to me thru another fabulous client that sends me a ton of business. Their kids are super cute and their little boy is the same age as Timmy. The boys are very similar and I have a great time photographing him (well, really, ALL of them).
Some one, two, three….Whee! fun with mom & dad.

the mcn communion
This is one of John’s partners at work (yeah, not the kid, the dad) and we were invited to his son’s communion last weekend. So we went and I worked a little too and we all had a great time. All the boys really get along so well- even the biggest of boys. Which is probably a good thing cause John spends more time with Kevin than with anyone else– even me. Kevin, like John, does. not. smile. Ever. I had to make sure I got one picture of the two of them scowling. I think they should hang it up at work with a caption underneath it "are you billing??" They are some kinda scary bosses, huh?
Anyway, the communion boy was such a great sport and so good for me. Both boys did pretty much whatever I asked of them. And I think they were pretty happy with the fact they got to mess around a little plus stand on their beds. Mom was pretty relieved when the picture part of the day was done- mostly because her boys stayed neat and clean up until that point! It was a great, small party and everyone had a super time. Thanks for inviting us!
